I got this to complate my Fly collection. I love this film, it's my third favorite Fly film. The film takes off right where The Fly 1986 left off. Veronica gives birth to Martin who grows rapidly. Veronica dies at birth but her on survives and is taken into custody by Bartok industries. Martin's only friend is a dog which is sent through the telepods and becomes mutated. Mr.Bartok head CEO at Bartok industries lies to Martin later on and says that the dog was put out of it's misery. Martin falls in love Beth a worker at the facility. During party at the industry Martin discovers his old dog friend is still alive and still mutated. Martin puts the dog out of it's misery. Martin is given his own place outside of the facility unknowingly being watched by Bartok's lackeys. Martin fixes the telepods and takes Beth home with him. They make love. Martin finds tapes of his dad Seth Brundle(Jeff Goldblum). Martin finds a tape of he and Beth making love. Bartok made another lie saying no one would be watching Martin but now Martin finds that video camera and destroys it. Martin finds out that there is no cure to his rapid growth or his metamorphosis in a Brundlefly. The shots he was given were actually just water Bartok's third lie. It turns out Bartok never really cared about Martin and he was basically just a science project, the scientists were just waiting for Martin to transform.Martin meets Stathis and Stathis lends Martin & Beth his jeep so Bartok would be thrown off their trail. The following morning Bartok finds Martin in a pimply green cocoon & Beth. Bartok takes them away back to the facility. Martin soon exits his cocoon and begins to kill off the scientists, one lady is stabbed with needles, a guard get's acid vomit to the face, another scientist get's his bones broken. Lol the body of the scientist who's bones are broken is thrown at a guard who closes the door and the body hits the door. A guard is thrown beneath an elevator and his head is crushed which gushes out a spray of blood. Another scientist his killed ff screen and his body is thrown to the ground, the final guard who was a jerk to Martin & Beth get's killed. Brundlefly 2 takes Bartok and they're fused together bringing back Martin but leaving Bartok as a gross Bartokfly mutant, who is left alive to suffer. one of my favorites of all-time.

Unlike the Frankenstein films, the concepts of The Fly seem to deliver and inspire unique and haunting opportunities for techno-nightmares. With the framework set up in the first film, this Sci Fi / Horror fable in the first film, this is a very satisfying continuation of that world. Once again, the cast is perfect and the direction is consistently good. Nothing drags. The special effects and makeup are original and well executed. All in all the film does everything it should including an ending that brings a wicked smile to the viewers face. I almost made a spoiler there. But considering the story lines of all the Fly films, happy endings are few and far between. Don't miss this one!

Love these horror and scary movies, also purchased the Fly with Vincent Price both are good movies and sequels.update: Neither movie played on my DVD as mentioned by other reviews, msg was not this region which was not mentioned anywhere. I ordered another one from Florida, will update when it arrives.

This is a entertaining sequel that doesn’t match the first movie, but it isn’t as tragic as the first which was kind of refreshing. Can’t beat the price so give a shot.

Look it isnt AS good as the first one but this is a REALLY entertaining movie even in 2019 and it has some awesome/gross practical effects like the first one. I wont spoil any more than what the description does but it definetly is worth watching after the first one if you can appreciate it for what it is. This collectors edition comes with nice extras as well like the alternate ending, so I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Great movies from my youth, and delighted with purchase. Good value for money too!

Excellent film

David Cronenberg's most audience friendly and financially successful 1980s movie, The Fly (1986) has been spruced up for this double DVD set with a nice quality print and a meaty optional DTS soundtrack that does Howard Shore's music justice as well as some of the squirm-inducing sound effects. What we all remember from The Fly (1986) are it's amazing and gooey physical effects, but it's startling to rediscover just how sweetly and subtly handled David Cronenberg treats the central love triangle before Seth Brundle (Jeff Goldblum) makes his fateful journey. The Fly 2 (1989) makes a very worthy, satisfyingly gory effort to continue the franchise that doesn't disappoint in the scripting or physical effects department thanks to Director and special effects master Chris Walas. You also get an optional DTS soundtrack. Either one of these movies will make for a great Saturday night movie but probably not a date movie!

I wanted to watch these for a bit of nostalgic horror. Nice to find that the DVD is still available at a good price, very happy with this purchase.

I ordered the Fly II because of a review here on Amazon.ca which said that the disc was a double feature , and contained The Fly on one side and The Fly II on the other side . NOT TRUE AT ALL !!! There is a second dvd in the box that is simply a documentary on how both movies were made .
