Danskin Girls' Dance Skirt

My daughters use skirts like these for Irish dance competitions when traditional costumes are not required. This fabric clings to the skin a little more than I thought it would--but, the length worked well for dance over dance spankies and tights at another time. The size/length were as I expected for my daughter who wears a size 12 in most clothing--but, had we been buying to to wear to school or for everyday--it may have been considered a little short and I certainly wouldn't have let the girls wear it without tights or leggings.

I actually love this little ballerina skirt! The only reason why I gave four stars instead of five is because there were sparkles missing and where they were missing there were very noticeable brown spots. Besides that, cute skirt, perfect fit, and arrived fast! I would recommend, especially if you have a ballerina that tends to be a little bigger than the rest. It's very difficult for me and my family to find stuff in my niece's size as she naturally is bigger than the typical ballerina expectations. She loved it!

I had just enrolled my daughter in ballet class and bought 4 different tutu/dance skirts on Amazon for her to try out. This was one was a close second. I bought the small size and she's 3 years old and on the skinny side (20th percentile) but the skirt fit on her waist. It looked cute and classic but I wanted something with a little more spark for her ballet skirt. I ended up going with this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GBFIVI?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=od_aui_detailpages00 since it had a little more fluffiness to the skirt. This skirt would be nice for a more refined look.

I bought this size for my five year old's ballet class based on sizing comments in other reviews. It was a good fit for her and should fit for a couple of years. The biggest problem is the the plastic snaps that secure it are of poor quality, and less than two months after purchasing it, one snap already broke. I used ribbon to replace the broken snap. The wrap itself is of good quality, except for the snaps, which is unfortunate since the snaps are neccessary to keep the wrap on. I later saw one at Walmart for half the price with a simple elastic waist, and had I found that first, I would have gone for it instead.

Lovely, but too small. My daughter wears a 4/5 in bottoms with a slender to normal build. I bought the small and it was uncomfortably tight on her. The waist band is a fairly strong elastic, which would not be a problem if ti weren't small to begin with, but it dug into her waist. I am ordering another because it is a lovely skirt and will update when I get the larger size.

Aesthetically, the skirt is very pretty. However, the fit is inaccurate. The skirt was supposed to fit 8-14 girls, and it just fit my 8-year old, I thought it was a little cutting into the waist but it was so pretty she really wanted to make it work. She's no slouch, she's an average, active 8-year old, she wears an 8 or M in tops and bottoms but this skirt was ill-sized for an average 8-year old (can't even imagine a 14-year old!). There was very little elastic in the waist and only a snap to close the skirt.

This fits my 3 year olds waist perfectly and is a little long porportionally and for a dance wrap but no so much that it's a problem moving or anything. In general she wears a 5T ..... I purchased this for such a little girl on the basis of reviews..... I originally thought it was sized for an older girl but wondered if a small would fit.... But after reading the reviews we bought the med/lg....she is 40" tall and weighs 38lbs if that helps anyone....so maybe for a tiny 5/6/7 year old this would work ???. Also it buttons it doesn't tie like most dance "wraps" I have seen.... Which for cute factor I wanted ties but I assume for practicality the buttons are better!

I like the skirt but it said "sizes" and all the Danskin products I was trying to order were not size specific- unusual for amazon as I usually have the best details here. I really wasn't sure what size I was getting. We kept it but was bigger than I wanted.
