Hot Cams CIK-001 Camshaft Installation Kit

Tools seem to be good quality; the degree wheel is metal and the dial indicator has a smooth motion and always returns to zero. I'm not sure what brand the dial indicator is but it's much better quality than the cheap ones they sale at places like HF. The magnetic mount for the dial indicator seems to be sturdy. The piston stops feel/look good but I haven't used them so I can't comment on their effectiveness. I'm not sure why they didn't include a pointer for the degree wheel; it would have cost basically nothing - a bent piece of clothes hanger works just as well though. The only downside, which I don't think was a big deal, was the wooden case was a little bashed up and one of the latches didn't close. I bought it for the tool not the case, so the damage doesn't affect my score.

Definitely would work great for an engine without heads or a cast iron engine however the magnetic base is pretty much useless on aluminum engines you have to create a plate that you can mount it to. Having some different adapters for the wheel that keep it centered on different sized bolts would be awesome because having to turn them yourself kind of defeats the purpose of purchasing the kit. For the money it's a decent kit.

It does work, but the wheel is small. I also found that the degree markings were not that easy to read. The dial indicator is good and the stand is o.k.Knowing what I know now I probably would have gotten a higher quality set up.

All parts were in the case, and all worked absolutely wonderfully. Needed to degree in cam on my 69 Mustang. Handle on case was bent, but that was pointed out in the description, and the price was obviously discounted because of this. As result price was FAR better than anywhere else, and there was nothing wrong with the tools - and the tools are the reason it was purchased, not the box

My rating was issue high due to the fact that cover or exceed my expectation. I like the presentation I means the wooden box were the tools comes. I recommend this product to does build racing engines or would like to verify engine cams degrees

Ordered it to degree my cam and it did not have the degree wheel. Was corrected quickly. None the less postponed the engine build. I was floored that it didn't have the wheel.
