Harriet, You'll Drive Me Wild!

Teaches important emotional intelligence truths.
Perfect for emotional intelligence education. Some people think that when a person snaps and yells, that either the yeller is a bad person to be avoided or the person who triggered their yelling is a bad person who deserved it. This book shows that yelling comes from build up issues and emotions until the person cannot handle the stress anymore, but that they do not mean to yell, do not want to yell, and are sorry for yelling. Once the anger and frustration is out, then apologize, make up, help the child clean up the mess they made, and go back to showing love to each other. Releasing emotion like snapping happens in healthy people and the short burst is quickly passed and they go back to sorry, my mistake, let us work together to do ______. If you just stuff the emotion inside yourself, it will stew there, until you blow up it will be out of control and doing/saying things you never should. So learning how to process these situations is an essential part of emotional intelligence education. One party has to realize their behavior added to the other party snapping and quickly forgive the snapping. The other party must apologize for snapping and go back to the loving relationship. Neither party can hold onto grudges or the relationship will not work.

Gift for Grandpa ❤️
Grandpa read this book to my daughter so much the pages are worn. He cared for her as a toddler for a couple years while I was in school. She still has her original book but ordered grandpa his very own as a Christmas gift.

"But Mom, it was an accident".
What a delightful way to let a child know that grown-ups get frustrated too. Harriet is a little "toot" and her Mom has to be so patient of course. It's a sweet easy read with wonderful pictures. How often a child says " but, it was an accident" gets old quickly. You can discuss what Harriet might've done different.

Great Book for Teaching Kids Moms Have Feelings, Too!
I love this book. I really get a kick out of mom's who talk in sing song and expect their kids to behave. My favorite story is a mom who told me the only way she could get her daughter to stop pulling temper tantrums was to give her lollipops. This book clearly and wonderfully illustrates that moms have feelings too. It provides a great lesson for kids and should be read to them over and over again.

Great book for any parent who wants to be closer with their child.
This is a favorite book of my three year old and myself. As the child gets into one perdicament after another the mother finds herself more and more challenged with not losing her temper. Finally, she does the unthinkable and yells. It's a great way for parents to remind themselves that they are not perfect and for children to see that parents have feelings too.In fact, when I am starting to loose my temper with my son, I now say, "Harriet Harris, I'm talking to you." And he realizes that he is making poor decisions and actually pays attention and straightens up. So, this is also a great book to read as a discipline reinforcement.

Love it!!!!
this book was useful in getting a former temper tantrum throwing, "mommy, mommy, mommy" chanting 4 year old to see a different perspective. Worth every cent. It spoke to her in her own language and now she knows when mommy needs a moment of silence or privacy, it's ok...cause the cuddles and fun will soon continue. She loves quoting the book, "You'll drive me wild!"

Great book for busy kids
I found this book at the Library and after a few reads with my very busy Harriet kiddo we knew it was one that should be in our collection. It’s a good book for both busy kids and their parents, an easier read with pictures.

Beautiful story
I love this book, another great story by Mem Fox. My 2 year old daughter loves it. Only problem was the book itself, some of the pages were stuck together and had to be gently pulled apart.

Disappointing
Description said “may have limited marks on inside cover” this copy has a HUGE message to 2 children for their Easter from granny and grandpa. There’s no hiding that. I understand it’s second hand but seriously, it’s the whole inside page!
