This part is typical failure on Honda vehicles. It can use be clogged so you may not need to replace the whole part. But given the cost is less than $50 bucks while be cheap especially since it is an old part and other components can go bad as well. I would just replace the whole part. Typical systems include a jerking motion from the car and the vsa light coming on and staying on. Some time both check engine light and vsa light will be on. If this happens pull over where its safe turn off car and turn back on. If it keeps happening then you know you have a problem and this would be your solution. It is held in my 3 10 mm bolts. You need to first remove the 2 clips for the sensor. You can't see the bolts so you need to kind of feel for them and use a deep socket. You may also need an extention. Your make and model may require additional steps but over all take off 2 clips and pull out 3 bolts good luck. Also reset code if you have a code reader. Oh and before you even start look at the part on your car and this one to make sure they are the same. You dont want to start and then realize your order wrong thing, but i can tell you will fit 09 CRV.

Went through the whole P1259 Diagnosing as per Honda before finally just replacing the whole unit. Fairly easy to replace with. (3) 10mm bolts and it's out. Wasn't as a messy experience since it does run pressurized oil, I assumed it would be have like a lot of in it. No more limp mode, happy to rev the engine out now. I'll see how long it'll last, review subject to update, if it hasn't, it's been working fine.

I replaced the original solenoid assembly with this product. Worked like a charm. I am not sure how long it will last, but it is an easy replacement. I will provide an update if anything changes.

Válvula para funcionamiento del sistema vtec. Corrige el código p2646 y la luz VSA. La camioneta no pasaba de 3000 RPM. Con esta válvula se soluciona el problema. Mucho más barata que la original.Lleva 1000 km sin que el problema persista. Espero y dure bastante la pieza
