The Art of Mesoamerica (World of Art) Paperback – September 10, 2012

Had to have this for college decent book for learning about mesoamerican culture and art.

Great perfect for my class

I love this book, it gets to the point of what each of the mesoamerican art pieces might mean. This is one of my favorite art history book series and a wonderful book to read on your own time.

The author tends to go on rants mentioning artifacts and sites as if there were illustrations to anchor the descriptions; often times, there are, but a significant number of times there aren't. The descriptions are fine, but without the anchoring and often without delving into the cosmological significance of the items, the reader is constantly left to his own devices to fill in the gaps with wikipedia (sadly), google images, and academic journals. I would definitely recommend revamping this book significantly.

I really love this book, not only is it illustrated throughout with black & white and colored illustrations and photos, like all theThames and Hudson world of art series, but Mary Ellen Miller provides a wealth of information on the various cultures of centralAmerica from the Olmec to the Aztec. If your interested in Mesoamerican art, then this is the book for you.

I got this for an art history class. It is a great intro to the art of Mesoamerica with glossy full color photos. The size is convenient for throwing in a book bag to take to class.

Ni una sola ilustración en color, a pesar de lo que se describe. Es una impresión en tinta negra y gris, con poca definición en algunas imágenes. Esperaba una edición mucho mejor. Tengo libros fotocopiados en blanco y negro mejor definidos que esto. Las imágenes que adjunto dan fe de ello. Se ve borroso porque se ve así! No es la cámara! Lo devuelvo. No recomiendo para nada su compra.

I'm very disappointed on your Art of Mesoamerica Book, I got it from Amazon USA and I don't think I had ever get a book so bad printed in my entire life. It look liked it was copied with a Xerox machine. I do not know if you keep eyes on the sellers but if the book is being sold by Amazon USA, this copy is killing Thames and Hudson reputation. The book is a scam, you are getting a bad xeroxed copy of a possibly OK book. So disappointed

Fake book not original edition !!! It’s a copy en lack and white and so bad qualitySometimes impossible to read as the copy seems to fade !!!I want my money back
