DEATH BY VIN DIAGRAMS!!!
Fast Company and Harvard Business Review have this book high marks and I am wondering why they ever agreed to such a high level of applause for such a poor example of Sun Tzu’s work. One every turn of the page, there is another Vin Diagram., and then another one and another one!A few sloping line graphs that go from zero to infinity or inverse and only based on a x and y axis values that are never specified. Specifications are important in a book that has the themes of “Calculate and Calculate and Measure and Plan and Plan!” Which is why this is so painful of a book to read.I bought the book and read it a single day. It is not that deep of a book or that through of an explanation of Sun Tzu and his dedication to The Art of War.” In fact, this book is a cheap attempt to make a fast buck and sale off of people who are unaware of the depth of this timeless teacher. The illustrations could be done with the watermark of a beer mug at a local bar.If you gotta get this book, buy it used.If you give it as a gift, make sure there is a gift receipt in the box.If you love this book, get the full version and enjoy the depth of those writings and explanations.

Helpful
Until I saw this book in a bookstore, I’d never thought of a “war” book being applicable to normal work-life. I especially like that that there are not long paragraphs to read, but short synopses of concept & simple diagrams showing the ideas

OK, but not as insightful as I had hoped.
The visuals and analysis from How To Be Interesting didn't translate as well to the telling of Art of War. Venn Diagrams predominate the infographs, which became repetitive, and sometimes not very insightful or humorous. I think her visuals are best when surprising and funny. Best thing for me: opened up my thnking about Venn Diagrams as an interesting addition to presentations and storytelling.

SunTzu is a god😇 and Jessica has made it easy to “see”
I have always been a fan of SunTzu and relied on his text. His easy to read , but difficult to interpret and internalize. Jessica has done her homework, and used her talents to develop a medium, verbiage, and a dialogue to present these concepts. I am truly impressed.Read and internalize the Messages presented. If you don’t understand the message, ask those around you about their experiences, have them share their insights; never be afraid to read, study, and ask for assistance- it takes a village!

Would not recommend to anybody
This book has done gross injustice to the original book which is a masterpiece. The author has put random visuals to explain key strategic takeaways from the original. A high-school kid might have come up with better visuals.

Great visual appeal
This book is great visually for someone who doesn’t have time to read a lot. It’s also easier to understand than the original version. I bought it for a lawyer who thinks it’s great to display on his desk among his other books.

It does offer a different perspective to the original versions ...
It does offer a different perspective to the original versions ... but ... that perspective doesn't add to clearer understanding. In fact, it occasionally works against itself.

Just couldn't get into this one
Some ideas are difficult to get into. Maybe you start off with a different expectation or vision than the author and this was one of them.I've read Sun Tzu in standard concepts and found the ideas interesting, in my opinion this book doesn't add anything. But that's my opinion only.

Useless book
horrible book , please dont buy.Boring as hell , if I had to get just quotes from the original book , i would have googled it.Graphs are useless and even a small kid of 5 could have done that.

Great concept but lack of fulfilling content
Even though the idea of the book is original, the concept is appealing, the content is not as deep, stimulating, and fulfilling.

Unsatisfied.
This looks like the pictures were devised by a child and unchecked by an adult.
