It works, it's OK. I installed it to my MacBook Air 13" 2012 Mid without problems (do not forget to create new partition).It was today so let see how it will work for long time.

system: mid-2012 13" MacBook airpros:- easy to install following directions on their website. <30 minutes to replace the SSD.- similar read speed to OEM SSD drivecon:- slower write speed. OEM was able to write at 350+MBps, this unit does 260MBps

I bought this chip to upgrade my Macbook Air from 64gb, and bought a Macbbok Air screwdriver set at the same time. I made sure I had both a backup of the whole computer and a bootable drive (USB stick) before starting, but chip installation was straightforward enough following the video instructions from OWC, and the machine booted up no problem. It was then just a case of doing a remote install of OSX and restoring my apps and data. The whole process took about an hour. Note that taking the back off the Macbook Air will invalidate any warranty you may have.Overall, an excellent way of boosting your Air's capabilities, and although it's not cheap, it's better value than a new computer.*****UPDATE 27th March 2014*****This SSD failed this week, which was made all the more annoying by the fact that I was on a photographic trip and needed the computer to store digital images. On booting up the MBA the dreaded question mark folder appeared. I rebooted the MBA into recovery mode and confirmed that the MBA could not 'see' the SSD at all. Fortunately I was able to remotely install OSX onto the portable hard drive I had with me, and I used this to run the MBA for the rest of the week. On my return I re-fitted the original 64gb SSD and all's well. I tried the dead SSD in a usb housing without success.This SSD is under warranty, and the seller has agreed to an exchange. The problem here is that it contains personal data and, although I can't read the drive, that doesn't mean to say that the seller or manufacturer doesn't have the means to do so. I can't be sure that the data is not still readable.There will always be a percentage of units which fail (although in 20+ years of computing this is my first failure), and the seller is under no obligation to replace my SSD without the opportunity to test it first, so this post is just information for potential buyers.

128GB SSD Speicher reichten dann doch nicht weit genug. Das Angebot von 240GB von OWC war die Verlockung. Für den Preis von unter 200€ schien mir das Risiko nicht zu groß, nach dem ich mir schon bei meinem alten Mac Boock Pro mit Erfolg die Festplatte ausgetauscht hatte.Für mein Air Mitte 2012 braucht man zwei Schraubendreher und ein angespitzes Teil mit dem man die Stromzuführung im Inneren abheben kann. Das ist alles keine Hexerei. Eine genaue Anleitung gibt es bei Youtube. Der Einbau ist sehr einfach mit den passenden Schraubendrehern. Man benötigt dazu zwei Spezialschraubendreher, und das angespitze Tool aus Plastik. Gegen einen Aufpreis werden die Tools von OWC mitgeliefert, dies empfehle ich dringend. Bei extra Zukauf muss man mit ca. 35,-€ rechnen.Die Übertragung der Daten erfordert ein Backup, oder kann mit dem OWC Aluminium Wedge (extra zu kaufen ca.30€), in das das alte Laufwerk passt, problemlos getätigt werden. Ich folgte der Anleitung die auf der Webseite von OWC nachzuverfolgen ist.Das neue SSD Laufwerk funktioniert einwandfrei (Gesamtkosten ohne Arbeitszeit lagen bei ca, 260.-€).

Se ajusta a lo que se anuncia pero otros que se venden también por eBay vienen con las herramientas necesarias para el desmontaje. Herramientas con un coste ridículo que podrían incluir con el envío. Además han subido el precio desde que lo compre, más motivo para incluirlo.En MacBook Air mid 2012 no hubo que desmontar más que la tapa, y el tornillo que sujeta el disco duro.

Ormai sono passati anni. Comunque ottimo prodotto. Unica pecca: mi sarei aspettato che nel pacco fosse incluso anche il case per rendere il vecchio SSD come un disco esterno, come pubblicizzato nel sito del produttore, invece purtroppo non è stato così. Solo per questo metto 4 stelle al posto di 5.

ottimo.. finalmente ho esteso la memoria minima del mio mac!!nessun problema.. dopo poche ore di ripristino e riassestamento va liscio come l'olio.Consiglio assolutamente

Achtung: im Titel wird eine SSD-Beezeichnung genannt für das MacBookAir 2011, in der Beschreibung taucht dann aber eine andere Nummer auf. Tatsächlich wird die SSD OWCSSDAP2A6G240 geliefert, die ist aber für das MacBookAir von 2012.Ist mir bei diesem Artikel schon das zweite Mal bei zwei unterschiedlichen Händlern passiert, ich verzweifle.

se si seguono correttamente le istruzioni di uso e montaggio è un prodotto perfetto ,occorre fare attenzione al fatto che un nuovo disco deve essere ricostruito sul precedente!

Y cuando digo que no es plug and play, me refiero a que los vídeos de OWC presentan este disco duro como algo que simplemente entra en el sitio del viejo SSD sin mas. Y no es así.Tampoco es que la solución sea terriblemente compleja o imposible, o que haya que cortar trozos del ordenador (aunque casi lo hago). La cuestión es que, tal y como viene es mas largo que el disco al que sustituye, por lo que al intentar meterlo, roza en el marco de las baterías, y o doblas el disco para que entre (cosa que ni por asomo), o cortas parte del plástico del marco de la batería. Como ponerme a cortar sobre la placa me parecía arriesgado, decidí desmontar la batería (5 o 6 tornillos torx5, como el que asegura el disco duro, y un conector sencillo de quitar) y una vez la tuve fuera, me di cuenta de que el disco entraba perfectamente junto con el marco sin modificar, si el marco entraba después. Y así lo hice.Como se ve, no es una rotura de cabeza, ni piensa uno que vaya a romper nada, pero no es tan simple como aflojar tornillo, sacar disco, meter disco, apretar tornillo. Me parece increíble que los señores de OWC no hayan tomado las medidas bien.
