They love the multi-player aspect and competing against each other in ...
My children (aged 9 and 10) are having friends over for a sleepover tonight and they're playing it as I type this review. They love the multi-player aspect and competing against each other in fun challenges. They enjoy picking the characters, and even work together designing a course of their own. This is a fun family game for children and adults of all ages. Easy-to-learn controls and lots of laughs! I highly recommend this game.

Can I get my daughter back
My daughter quickly became addicted to this game. I can't stand it because it makes me nervous, constantly worried about falling off... I could never play it in real life, I wouldn't make it off the starting pad. So, I guess that says something to the "realism" of the game. The ability to create your own course, the variety of existing courses, and the overall playability thrills my 12-yr-old for hours.

Fun to play, not to Create..
I have not played ANY of the other Wipeouts, but I must say that this game is GREAT! It's really cute and fun. There's many boards (even though I still wish there were more)! Each board has it's own theme to it. For example, one theme is Halloween another is western, etc. And every theme is REALLY colorful and adorable looking! I was very VERY content about that. There's many characters to play and each character is fun to play with and has their own look and personality. According to what I've seen, the characters in this wipeout are better than all the other wipeouts (as well as the boards). The only thing that's kind of dull, is the create your own board/level. The reason being is because there's not that many obstacles to work with (unless I'm not unlocking something which I doubt). And, the board colors are also dull. The board color is blue and white and the obstacles are red or white and blue.I wish too the boards were longer like 3 minutes. Most boards are 2 minutes long but I notice once I master them (which is pretty quickly) I finish the board in 30 seconds! Therefore I wish the boards were longer.Besides that, games GREAT fun. The voiceover's fun and amusing also.

Cannot play this game unless you agree to perform a system update.
Very disappointed. I bought this game for my 6-year old who love the gameshow Wipeout. He was so excited. But when we went to play the game the first time, it said we would have to run a system update, even though I had just run one the week prior and was on the most current (and final) version of Wii firmware. The game will not let you play it unless you run the system update. That wouldn't be a problem, other than I have also installed the Homebrew game channel on my Wii, which, for the uninitiated, allows you to load games that other developers have created and shared for free. Nintendo doesn't look kindly on developers who use their platform to create games without paying a licensing fee, so firmware version 4.3 typically searches for those games and removes them from your Wii console. I have also read that in some cases, the update will "brick" (e.g. lock up) your Wii if you have the Homebrew channel installed. Needless to say, I'm between a rock and a hard place. Do I run the update so we can play this game and run the risk that the other games we have loaded via the Homebrew channel get erased, or my Wii gets rendered unusable? Or do we not play the game and I'm out the $$ I paid? Incidentally, of the 20-odd games we have bought brand new from Amazon and other brick & mortar retail stores, Wipeout: Create & Crash is the ONLY game that will not simply play when inserted into the Wii console, and is the ONLY one that requires a system update and which does not recognize that the Wii console is already running the current version of code. I'm wondering whether the disk I received is a pirated fake. Either way, I'm stuck with an expensive drink coaster (or worse).

Impossible to lose
At first I LOVED this game, It was fairly challenging and the one liners that the host's threw out were witty and entertaining. This lasted up to the point that my roommate played it, did HORRIBLY, and still won. I then decided to try and purposely lose the game. I spent 10 minutes crashing on the first round and made it to the second. I hit the first obstacle in less than 2 seconds in the second round and made it to the third round. In the third round I spent 20 minutes failing on purpose only to still make it to the wipeout zone. There I spent 1 solid hour losing only to end up winning in the end. This completely ruined the game for me. There was no longer any reason to play it because there was no challenge or satisfaction from overcoming it. Bummer, could have been a four or maybe even a five star game.

Great game, but freezing up
Its a great game for my 9 and 6-year olds. The problem is that the first one I received was crushed, so I sent is right back . Amazon sent me a replacement, but it keeps freezing up as the kids play it. I am doing one more return and then might have to call it quits.

Funnest Wii Game!
My kids absolutely LOVE this game. It's great for all ages because falling off an obstacle area causes the player to be automatically advanced to the next section. The action is non-stop and highly customizable. The kids think it's hilarious when people fall off obstacles.

Wiped Out from playing so much!
My 12 yr old daughter rented this from Redbox and she and I love this game. We have another WipeOut Wii game that we don't like as much, but LOVE this one. It can be for 1 or more players and fun for lots of ages.
