The stainless steal straw is slightly larger than a standard straw in diameter and length. The silicone tips make this straw even Larger. The silicone tips are soft and flexible easy to compress with my teeth to make the straw smaller so that not so much liquids are flooding my mouth. I think the straw will be good for smoothies and shakes but also works well for liquids. The silicone tips have seams on the top and bottom which can feel irritating. My photos shows blue plastic straws for size comparison . last photo shows a cuticle cutter. I used the cuticle cutter to remove the seams on the straws, now the straws are smooth and comfortable. It's great to be able to replace disposable with reusable.

This is the best of both worlds! Metal straws suck because you can't chew them (something I need for disability reasons) and silicone straws suck because they are wobbly and weird. These straws bring the benefits of both without the downsides of either! The silicone tips are firm enough to not flop weirdly, but still bend perfectly when chewed to control the flow of liquid. The silicone tips are removable but stay firmly attached to the metal straw. There is an indent in the metal and a protrusion in the silicone that let them lock together snugly when in use so that no liquid comes out, even if you tug on it. The cleaning brushes are long and firm and feel like they give a very good clean to the inside of both the silicone and metal.

Update: Returning these and ordering something different. I decided I was a little too disappointed in the misleading color description and I need something that will fit into my lid slots.Pros: Very well made, easy to clean, sturdy, not too heavyCons: I ordered the rose gold and the packing was labeled as such, but it’s safe to say these are nowhere near rose. It’s more of a brassy gold. Please refer to my picture. Also, they do not fit in the lid slots of my Yeti & Orca tumblers, which is what I bought them for...that kinda sucks. I’m so curious to see if, over time, the gold will begin to chip off because you can tell it’s painted.

I have been using stainless steel straws for years. I bought a 30 oz tumbler and the straws were not long enough so I bought these. They are a very good length for the larger/taller glass. I knew these were a wider straw then needed for just water. But the width might take a bit to get used to and the tip tastes a bit like plastic, even after a thorough washing. Because of that, next time I will stick with all steel straws.

TL;DR : They work well, but just get a Klean Kanteen straw. P.S. plastic wrapping.This is an average mass-produced item, they came wrapped in non-recyclable plastic. So zero-wasters beware. I've only been using them for about a week, but they seem to work well. I really like this design and was trying to find a cheaper option than the Klean Kanteen straws. I would say just get a Klean Kanteen Straw. It probably wasn't worth the $2-4 I saved. They do work well though, no complaints there.I think the silicone may not last as long as I had hoped, not sure if that's normal. I found that a few of the silicone parts were slightly longer than the others and also easier to put on. Still IMO not hard to put on which seems to be a big concern among reviewers.

I am very happy with these straws. I particularly like the silicone tips which the straws suitable for varied glasses.I would definitely purchase these again. I only have one glass with a star insert hole, and these straws are a bit too large to fit. I simply removed the straw insert piece and put the straw through this space. However, my glass was a promotional gift and I don't know if it is a standard size.

I got them because of:1. the colors2. it comes with two wire brushes3. the number of straws is perfect because I was able to give two straws, one to each person as gifts, and keep one for MYSELF! :)4. have you experienced a soda pop out of a metal straw & double-walled tumbler? NO? you're missing out!I do wish I had paid attention to the diameter and length of the straws because upon arrival I was concerned that they were going to be too large for my tumblers. Luckily they were NOT too long or wide and I was able to gift them with no worries. But for the next person shopping for straws, it wouldn't hurt to measure for what you need.

I purchased these after reading reviews to give them a chance. My boyfriend and I both enjoy keeping our waters (30 oz Yeti or Piper Lou tumblers) near us during the day. I find that I drink more if I have a straw. I originally had thin metal ones, which were fine, but I didn't particularly like them. I love that these are metal (I love ice so I don't have to fight with the ice like I do with my silicone straws), but silicone tips. You can remove the tips so you can wash them more thoroughly. They fit our 30oz tumblers really well. I recommend them to everyone!
