Could the roller be used to apply puzzle glue over a puzzle?

I don’t think it would work. The glue would stick to it. It’s more for making things flat.

What is the roller made of? I've heard its made of rubber.

It is made of plastic. It’s a diamond tool for diamond painting. You use it to roll over your painting to make sure they stay stuck to the canvas. If you hear a pop or a snap, it’s just that the sound is coming from the diamond(s) snapping into place. You can also buy the wooden ones too. I prefer the plastic ones over the wooden ones cause if you are doing a partial painting & use the wooden roller over it, it leaves marks or streaks onto the painting that can’t be fixed. So be careful when rolling the roller over partial paintings. Never buy from allieexpress because it took them a full year to get my order to me & they won’t refund your money.

What is the flat tool used for ?

It is used to line up your rows in both directions. That way you are straight.
