I bought this when my Microsoft supplied charger began to go on the blink. Well, in some ways, this replacement is better than the original. The connections seem better. My original one had loose ones and had to be held together. Now I could rant about Microsoft being able to design a great tablet yet make a mess of the charger. But I won't. Suffice to say, if like me, your supplied charger goes on the blink, this one might just do the job.

This is second time I have purchased this very good product

I bought this after losing my original power supply (don't ask). Obviously a replacement was necessary and I explored options. Microsoft had them, of course, but at a luxury price when I looked. This was much cheaper. It does the job and has the useful addition of a USB power port. However, the cable is stiffer and the Surface connector end doesn't just jump up into place in the same way. I also note that while the connector has a white LED power indicator, like the original, here is aimed sideways rather than front and back and not as visible.

Good value for money, sturdy and does what its supposed to.

Does all it needs to and excellent value when compared with original MS part. Only minor niggle is that connector to Surface does not seem as strong as original (weaker magnet ?) and so falls out relatively easily. All in all an excellent alternative.

My original charger decide to suddenly die during the lock down and without support from the IT dept available I had to buy this one.And I'm really glad that I did. While is a generic brand (not genuine) it is working very well. Slightly bigger in size than the original one this seems to help with the heat dissipation as it will not get that hot.Supplied with a longer main cable (a benefit again) and with the same USB output. Works well, never had any issues.

Works well with my surface book. It has a cheapish look, but doesn't matter for me. The cables are quite stiff, but I hope they're gonna be durable. It actually gets also less warm than the original I had before which broke...

The charger was working well, in regular use, up until recently. I had to stop using it when I realised the white light wouldn't always come on when the device was plugged in.Also there is an electrical burning smell coming from the connector which plugs into the Surface device itself. A closer look shows an orange point of light (definitely not part of the normal white light showing the connector is working). To be on the safe side I won't be using the charger again.
