High Five, Mallory!
J**R
I give this five stars because Mallory is a smart 10 year old girl! I'm actually having the same trouble with my friend Mira.
Mallory's brother gave her some really good advice. (I wish my sister could do that, she is a sophomore in high school.

Good but could be better
Good but bad ending like I think they should have a better ending like they could have Mary Ann and zoe and Mallory hang out

Fifth-grader, Mallory Louis McDonald, is having big-time trouble at Fern Falls Elementary ...
It was almost time to head back to Fern Falls Elementary school, but Mallory Louise McDonald had a big problem. She’d really been looking forward to fifth grade, but it didn’t look like she’d be having a BFF. Mary Ann, her best friend since kindergarten, made like she liked Zoe better of all things. There weren’t going to be any going-back-to-school cookies because Zoe was into the healthy thing. It was going to be smoothies with strawberries and bananas instead. Yuk! When Mallory began to talk about their favorite TV show ever, Mary Ann exclaimed, “I’m kind of over ‘Fashion Fran’.” What? There must be some something terribly wrong with Mary Ann.Things only seemed to go from bad to worse and even Chloe Jennifer noticed the change in Mary Ann. Wish Pond Road wasn’t exactly a fun place for Mallory and Chloe Jennifer anymore. Even Max was having problems. At least the new teacher, Ms. Thompson looked nice, but soon there would be “teacher trouble” too. Everyone was supposed to ask her a question, but somehow Mallory got that one wrong too. The very, very wrong question got her in big trouble. Instead of doing a class report with Mary Ann, she was going to do one with the new boy, Devon. Of course Mary Ann was going to do hers with Zoe. Mary Ann and Zoe, Mary Ann and Zoe, Mary Ann and Zoe!Fifth grade certainly wasn’t starting out right, but maybe Mary Ann would come around on Pajama Day. Mallory Louise McDonald was a winner, but the more she thought about it, ‘loser’ could be her new name. “Do you not want,” she asked Mary Ann, “to be friends with me anymore?” Did she really want to hear the answer to that question? It just could be a bomb like the question she asked Ms. Thompson. Mary Ann and Zoe, Mary Ann and Zoe, Mary Ann and Zoe! Mallory wrote to Ms. Thompson that she “wanted fifth grad to be the best year ever,” but was it going to be the worst?Fifth-grader, Mallory Louis McDonald, is having big-time trouble at Fern Falls Elementary. This is a year of change for her and there are surprises galore in store for the reader. Mallory is starting to grow up, but is still one of my favorite characters in any series for the intended age group. She has done some wild and crazy things, things that definitely got me laughing and made me a fan. Jennifer Kalis’s artwork does add a lot to each tale as much of it is in a journal-like format. Keeping with the times, we now see text messages on Mallory’s phone. Each one of the Mallory books is a stand-alone chapter book, humorous books that young readers will love!Reading Grade Level: 3Interest Grade Level: 2 - 5MALLORY MCDONALD: Mallory McDonald, Baby Expert! Bonding between Max and Mallory; Mallory's friendship with Maryann tested
Excellent! Great for kids at the new school year. Love the recipes! One little gripe to the teacher. Is a student asking whether or not you're married really that big a deal? I wouldn't exactly call that "getting personal". That really threw me. Other than that, great book.
