If was just rating the content of this book it would easily be five stars, but the quality of the book I received was so poor I had to give a one. The pictures I have attached are after owning this book for ONE day. The first time I opened the book the binding of the cover separated from the pages and the spine tore. The pages are also not properly attached the the spine and are already separating.This is honestly the worst binding I have ever seen on a book. If you are willing to take the time to repair the binding yourself, this book may still be worth getting. I am happy to add this book to my collection, but it is incredibly frustration to have to repair a brand new book the day I got it.

Extremely through information on the medicinal compounds in mushrooms. However, the book claims to give dosage and procedures for taking all the mushrooms it contains, but does not. Sometimes, you will read about the medicinal aspects of a particular mushroom, but won't be given so much as a clue on how to use it.

This book definitely exceeded my expectations. This is the book that I had wanted to find but didn't think existed. It covers everything. It breaks down the appearance, locations to be found, how the mushrooms are cultivated, how they have been used throughout generations throughout different cultures around the world, a plethora of information regarding different studies that have been done by different governments and universities, medicinal uses, some advice on dosages, and sometimes even those comparisons between different delivery methods i.e. Tinctures powders capsules essence's teas.It's an incredible book. I I would compare it to a textbook, or encyclopedia, or maybe a cookbook, but really it's all of them just much easier to read, better looking, and easier to find and use information from.A very well put together, excellent book.

This compendium of science and fascinating ethnobotany and pharmacology is dense with information. I can only read it for a half hour or so at a time, but it is answering so many of the questions I've had abut fungus. Yes, I had questions about fungus...it is fascinating, as is this book. Clearly a labor of love, but scientific and thorough.

Loving this book! The only part of it that I would recommend in a revised copy would be an index of medical conditions that you could look up. There is a graph in the back, but an actual index of diseases that there have been research on with the page numbers to follow through would be incredible. But I love this book, I love the pictures, the history, and the research. Well done!

Absolutely love this book. Such an excellent resource for not only identifying mushrooms, but also their healing and medicinal properties. Very easy to read, colored pictures, great paper quality. Good worth for your money.

I am so in love with this book. It has been invaluable to me. I really appreciate the inclusion of so many study results and findings. This text is deep, and rich with so much important information that I have recommended as an addition to the Herbalists Without Borders library.

Fantastic information! You do need a baseline understanding of mycology, biochemistry, and physiology to really access its information. Ive formally studied mycology for years and I havent ever came across a book like this, this info is exactly what I've been missing in my overall knowledge. I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I suspect the poor reviewers got a little in over their heads with this book.

Good introduction on the subject but seriously needs an update and a critical editor.Also, many articles are just a copy/paste collage of sometimes contradicting statements from research, without an interpretation of the author. Read with your critical sense on guard and verify the things you find interesting with other sources.

Great book. Simple reference tool for anyone interested in thie area.

Very interesting and professional content, well worth its price and keeping as general reference about the therapeutics of specific mushrooms.

Ok so full disclosure I maybe a little biased - I have always thought Robert was a brilliant teacher and by far the best employer I ever had. But that being said this book is a wonderful combination of science and the spiritual aspect of the nature kingdom and our part in it. If that's your thing too, just get it, if not this is a perfect intro into that world. Robert doesn't talk or write about something he hasn't fully researched.
