I found this book fun, informative, engaging! It has a simple formula of dinner planning. Each plate is divided into half, one forth, one forth based upon green veggies, protein, and carbs. Every recipe has a beautiful picture and all the nutritional information needed to make knowledgeable choices. All recipes are designed for 4 servings, easy to double or divide in half. There are numerous options to select from, so I won’t be bored by repeat meals. I would recommend this book as an excellent guide to healthy eating for someone with diabetes, with pre-diabetes or for a regular diet.

Busy pre-diabetic mom of 3
Got diagnosed as pre-diabetic after the birth of my baby. I was so extremely overwhelmed with how and what I should be eating. I have a 2 year old, infant and teenager at home and so cooking needs to be quick, healthy and easy. This recipe book saved my sanity!!! The meals are simple prepare and there are pictures of EVERY single meal in the book. I love that the author made it easy to pick and choose meal items from one meal to another. Love how this recipe book made me feel that I can eat normally. The meals are absolutely selfish. My fav was the morrocan chicken....mmmm!! You will not be disappointed by this east to follow cookbook.

Great tool to have.
I love cook books. I bought this because I am pre-diabetic and wanted some ideas. The pictures are great and the recipes are easy to follow. This would be a great gift for someone who struggles to see healthy choices do not have to be boring.

EXCELLENT COOKBOOK - 10/10
EXCELLENT! 10/10- These are a few of my favorite things regarding this book! This is my go-to cookbook!1.Every recipe has a color picture showing the finished product on a plate along with details of portion size/quantity etc.2. The layout of the recipes (color-coded for beef/fish/chicken/vegetables/dessert..yes dessert!) were done well, and the recipes themselves are very easy to prepare, not to mention TASTY!3. The recipes use minimal oil which would make this book an excellent choice if you're trying to lose weight.4. Mix & Match section (found on pages 8&9 of the book) - This is another excellent feature of the book. I struggle with deciding on what to make on a daily basis, and this section allows me to visually look at healthy meal plan options.This cookbook is like getting your very own menu, with the recipes and gives you the option to be creative in the kitchen. And if you don't enjoy cooking and just want to make something quick and fast, this book serves that purpose too!I hope you find this book helpful to your healthy living!Calling all cook-book authors and would be ones to take note from this book!

Carb counts in the book are too high for a Diabetic
I purchased this book for my mother who is a Type 2 diabetic. My disclaimer: I am currently eating a fairly strict ketogenic diet and I would love to have my mother do it to; however, I think it would be too difficult for her at this time. I purchased this book because it claimed to be low carb and I thought it would be easier for her to handle.The pros:*Beautiful pictures*Recipes look pretty easy*Wide variety of mealsThe cons:*Most meals tend to be above 30 g of carbs (to me this is not low carb)*The book recommends low fat dressings and such - which usually have more carbs and sugars than the full fat itemsI think this might be a good start for my mother as if she followed this it would be better than what she is currently eating; however, I believe that the carbs/sugar count are still too high.

Yum! Every recipe is delicious!
Excellent cookbook. I bought this because both hubby and I have recently been diagnosed with a slightly elevated a1c level and I wanted to change our dinners to healthier options. I also was attracted to the dinner plate layout. I’ve pretty much stayed with the entire plate as shown in each recipe in the book, but it would be easy enough to substitute a starch or veggie from another recipe.So far, I’ve made over 10 recipes and have yet to find a clunker in the bunch. They are very tasty and satisfying. The recipes are for four servings, so I plate two leftover containers at the same time I’m plating the dinners. That helps in keeping my hubby from not accidentally going to the stove for seconds, LOL.The recipes are not necessarily simple and I’ve been improving my cooking skills along the way. I don’t mind, because the dinners end up being so delicious and worth the effort. Most of the preparation times are close to accurate, except for a few recipes where there is a lot of chopping or shrimp deveining and peeling involved and for those, I’ve learned to either double the time or prep the veggies earlier in the day.I have already recommended this cookbook to several other people and I’m sure you would enjoy it as well.

***** STARS !!! This book is ideal for people who Diabetic or merely interested in losing weight. It is easy to read, photos are of high quality, and the recipes are well presented and easy to follow.

The book is easy to navigate and the recipes all look so yummy
I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy and this book helped me stay on track with my carbs intake. The book is easy to navigate and the recipes all look so yummy. I tried quite a few and still make some now that my pregnancy is over and my diabetes' gone.

Great Book
This is a great recipe book if you are looking to adjust your eating to be in line wit the Diabetic Plate. The recipes are doable and tasty. Unfortunately, the one that we got came to us warped and we can't seem to get it flat - hence the three stars.
