DS-3 1 X Hidden Wall Safe

I LOVE THIS SO MUCH I INSTALLED IT INTO MY WALL AS SOON AS I GOT IT (make sure you know how close and far your walls are from eachother though so you can fit the inside of the safe in the wall (the plastic was very cheaply put together and i had to superglue it to stay together.)

I have been purchasing things from Amazon for many years - I have purchased things as expensive as $3000 and I guess as cheap as this product - $8.00. I intended to install this wall safe in my daughters room - when it was delivered and we opened the packaging - it was broken - not because of shipping but because of poor manufacturing quality (glued seams came apart). I was able to tape it back together - but the product looked and functioned so cheaply - and looked nothing like a real outlet that I refrained from installing it. Additionally - be aware that if you install this in an outside wall - you will compromise the insulative properties of the area. When I inquired about returning the product - I would have had to pay to ship it back and then pay a restocking fee - of course, I would have spent more than $8 to return it - so I did not. My advise - don't even think about ordering this thing!

The hidden wall safe looks like a socket but in reality it is a safe where you can hide all your valuables. The only advantage with this safe is that you will never have to remember any secret combinations to unlock it. It's a fun novelty, that employs the theory that things are best left hidden in plain sight. It IS a cheap product, so don't expect much. Here are some cons: That is the only advantage but other than that, this safe is cheap and not worth the $9.50 that it costs. For starters, the cheap plastic that makes this safe makes it unsafe. The moment you stash in your cash or more valuable, it will crack wide apart. The glued parts don’t hold well together. Actually, the piggy bank does a really nice job. The picture in the advert portrays a nice pivot that you tilt so as to remove your valuables out with minimal effort. This though is not the case. You have to do away with the whole socket like design and then pull out the box to remove the valuables. The idea was well thought off but the execution was poorly done. The hidden wall safe’s installation guide isn’t clear and you will have to figure it out yourself. The outlet doesn’t house any chords which makes it look fake. The saw that comes with the safe will also break once it starts cutting through the dry wall. The portion of the dry wall that will come out will be bigger than anticipated. Unless one is building a new house, this safe is not worth the time as the installation will fail and you will be left with a hole on your wall. With home-made tools, one can come up with a better safe. Since the safe will break anyway, you will be forced to tape and/or glue it and after the install, the safe will not look like an outlet. And what does the cynic in me have to say? A thief will most likely leave you a note with better ideas of how to hide your valuables in future. Also, the safe is too small to accommodate more than 3 items. This is a grade F safe and taking a trip to Home Depot to make your own home safe is better than the agony this safe will put you through. Borrow the idea and enjoy the thrill of making your own workable safe. It is even much more expensive to return this item as it will cost you more. The best advice is-don’t purchase this safe. Stick to your piggy bank and bank or if you really need a safe then make it yourself or buy a steel electronic digital safe box.

Fits like an ordinary electric plug. No one or should I say no burglar will notice this. You can hide money,jewelry or any important stuff you want to protect from the wrong people getting there hands on. Nice fit. Very secretive look.

This item is made for 1/4" drywall, most drywall is thicker, I had to take a drywall saw and cut out the sides where the locking mech locks, also had to cut inside the wall at the bottom so it would fit in the wall properly. I recommend having a drywall knife to install this item, and once you have your cutout and it fits into the wall, go around from about 1/4 from the top and shave the inside of the wall, make sure not cut to close to the wall as you will cut through. Also cut out at the bottom as far down as you can. ALSO The inside of where the outlet plugs into are hollow, Take a black sharpie and color them black from the BACKSIDE, also I took black cardboard (From the packing) and colored the edged black and pushed them into the hollow holes to make it look more legit.

very easy to install, and works great you cant even tell its not real as a matte of fact someone we know just moved into the house we put it in and they thought the outlet just didn't work until we told them what it was they didn't have any clue.

Have gun safes with electronic combination and alternative keys to open. Searching for an inexpensive product to securely hide the keys from children and thieves. A product preferably with a mechanical combination and can be well hidden. Purchased this product in hope to come up with some idea’s I will not use this product for one it can be opened with a screw driver also it’s all plastic. After a period of time using this product, I honestly believe it will chew up the sheet-rock behind the wall. This product, not for me. Sorry! It appears I'll be spending more money on a better product. I'll let the kids have it for there tree house.

HORIBLE PRODUCT. IT LOOKS AND FEELS CHEAP. IT IS "NOT CONVINCING". I CONTACTED THE SELLERS CUSTOMER SUPPORT EXPRESSING THAT I WAS NOT HAPPY AND WANTED TO RETURN IT. THEY NEVER RETURNED MY EMAILS. NEVER. I WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS TO ANYONE. THE BACK PART OF IT IS FLIMSY AND BULKY. YOU WOULD HAVE TO DESTROY A LARGE PORTION OR YOUR WALL TO PUT IT IN. THE ONLY WAY I WOULD RECOMEND THIS ITEM IS IF YOU WERE BUILDING A NEW HOME AND YOU HAD A CUT-OUT AREA ALREADY THERE. OTHERWISE, SKIP IT.
