Arduino Motor Shield REV3 [A000079] - Motor Control, 4 DC Motors, 2 Stepper Motors, 1.2A per Motor, Integrated Power Supply, Compatible with Arduino IDE for Robotics and Automation Projects

This motor shield works great. I had originally purchased a 4 channel L293D motor shield, but then returned it to get this one. Although those work fine (even with the required library download and finding obscure coding instructions), I find a 2 channel shield is much more user friendly and simpler to use. The product itself, although on the pricier side of motor shields, is definitely worth the cost. Haven't had any problems at all, neither in coding nor connection to an Arduino Uno R3. Additionally, since it is an Arduino product, the shield is well documented and accompanied by numerous instructional sources.

My son needed this along with the arduino board for an engineering class. This was an original made in Italy piece and it worked well. Please confirm that you are buying an original Arduino because there were many comments that buyers for other Arduino pieces were made in China. Radio shack carries this line as well but at a higher price for some things which is fine if the piece is made in Italy. He was happy with the motor shield.

I used this motor shield to drive a wiper motor for one of my arduino projects. It worked well, the only thing you have to be careful of is heat. I was pumping close to 4A of current through this guy and you could cook an egg on it. I did however look at the data sheet for the L298 motor driver, and It can be 130 celcius, but you aren't supposed to push that much current through the IC, so the heat issue is my error. The shield works as promised and is very user friendly and pretty self explanatory.

Worked perfectly and as expected. It's hard to say it's good or bad because it either works or it doesn't. Mine worked perfectly, the first time, and every time, so I can't say anything other than it did exactly as expected. The pass-through pins are VERY useful and are NOT available on all motor shields- so this is a very big plus for this one. Great product- I'd definitely use/buy again!

I went with the official Arduino Motor Shield to avoid any potential issues with a 3rd part knock off. Despite cutting the VIN trace it still sent power back to the Arduino Mega so I bent the VIN pin out instead. Using this with an Arduino Mega and a MakerFabs WiFi shield as my model train DCC++ EX Command Station. It lets me control trains with my phone using an app called Engine Driver.

This shield works great for operating a motor shield for an Arduino, it would make an excellent addition to any aspiring Electrical Engineer's collection, or Electric Hobbyst.

I used the product to build a project and it worked the first time. I am not very technical so having a product that worked the way it should was great.

Built my DCC-EX system, using this Arduino Motor Shield. Uploaded the software and everything worked perfectly. No problems, at all. I'd previously bought cheaper boards, which turned out to be incompatible (false economy). Wish I'd bought this one, to start with. Would've saved money and hassle. If friends are building a similar system, I'd direct them to this item.
