Good fix
Pro's This lamp is the same that Sony sells for double the price. It works well and is better than the knock off lamps IMHO made by other MFGs. The instructions are clear and the replacement is easy. One should download the manual which is a PDF from Sony as the lamp replacement full instructions are under the troubleshoot tab in the manual. The lamp replacement does NOT cure the green screen problem which is caused by optical block failure and is under recall from Sony which can be contacted by sonylistens.com. The seller had repackaged the lamp but provided a warranty and was very curtous and helpful. I would use this vendor againThe lamp can be also purchased without it's protective cage for those customers who have mechanical skills but by purchasing with cage, the replacement is easy.Con'S: These lamps can NOT be touched by the hands as the oils transmitted from skin contact will cause premature failure therefore the bulbs should be handled while wearing vinyl gloves which is not necessary when inserting caged lamps. The optical block cavity usually requires cleaning as dust accumulation should be vacuumed with a shop vacuum at the same time as replacement.

These Phillips bulbs are a bit expensive, but considering they last 3 or 4 years a great bulb for the money. High recommended.
I bought this Philips bulb to replace the one that burned out (after 4 years) in my SONY KDS-60A2000 television. I did start to get warnings from the television that it was time to replace the bulb before it actually quit working. That allowed me to order it and have it ready when it was finally necessary. The replacement is very easy to do (following the supplied instructions). Because of positive experiences with prior purchases of these bulbs from Amazon sellers, I simply used the old link in my order history to locate this one and buy it.You should check the reviews of the seller you select each time because give the intervening years, the sellers will probably be different.I will continue to purchase these bulbs here because so far everything has been great.

Pkg says Phillips bulb, but it's NOT a Phillips bulb, poor quality, color, longevity
Complaint #1 It was advertised as a "Phillips" bulb, but it's not.Complaint #2 The color is poor, lots of blue hues, and the colors are dull and lack vibrancy (if that's even a word). The last bulb we had in it was a Phillips brand bulb, which lasted twice as long as these imitations, and our picture was awesome, with bright hues, and true black, without all the purple/blue that these cheaper bulbs (Made in Mexico) have.Complaint #3 Also, the first shipment I got was in a package too small to hold 2 bulb boxes, but 2 was listed and signed off by two people that 2 had been sent, but there was only 1 bulb in the package. I sent an email to you guys, and I got another in 4 - 5 days.Complaint #4 The "free expedited shipping" that was provided took almost a week, so that was another "misuse of the true meaning of a word".I ordered 2, thinking it would be good to have a back up, but would like to send the other back for credit, and buy a TRUE Phillips bulb. Deceptive selling isn't cool with me.

worthwhile...
I ordered one of these for my old SXRD, fit as it should, just took a little manipulating to get it in place, works great thus far (longevity unknown) it did make a dramatic difference in the screen's brightness, cannot say I noticed it diminish over time, I did repair the green hugh caused from the loss of the blue silicone crystal long before the bulb was failing, so in my case worthy buy, recommended product & seller...

Philips brand name - working well for me so far!
So far, so good, after about a week. I tried a generic lamp twice for my Sony but the first one only lasted a few days, and the second one didn't work at all. I think sometimes you can get away with a generic, but in my case my Sony is 9 years old and I don't know if that matters or not, but in any case generics just did not do it for my TV. I finally broke down and put out a little more money for the brand (although it's really not a bad price to keep a great TV going). The picture is great, lamp works great, and hopefully having the brand name is the answer. I know the original lamp lasted nine years, so I am hoping for another nine! But it's reassuring to know that there is still a warranty.

Spare Bulb For Sony 60" KDS-60A2000 --- Also Fits Some Other Models.
This bulb, manufactured by Phillips is a good product that works well and a is good deal. I looked around the internet for better deals, I saved about one trird on the cost. If you haven't had to replace your bulb assembly yet, it's very easy to do, it only takes a minute or two and well worth purchasing the bulb assembly and doing it yourself rather than paying a TV repair person hundreds of dollars to come out and do it for you.

Truly an original OE replacement - NOT a cheap clone!
Having read many cautionary reviews of replacement lamps that weren't true OE (original equipment) replacements for the Philips lamps used by Sony I wanted to make certain that I got the real thing. These ARE the same exact lamps and it only took a few minutes to restore my beloved KDS-60A2020 SXRD rear projector to it's original performance. I'm an ISF-certified HDTV calibrator and it only took a few minutes with my equipment to confirm that my display had now been returned to perfection. I got nearly five years' service out of my original lamp and am hopeful that this replacement will perform equally.
