Qatar - A Traveler's Guide

Recently published, "Printed in Great Britain by Amazon", and colorful, but of the 53 numbered pages only approx. 28 offer the text content of the guide (9 are left blank for 'Notes'). Some shopping and restaurant recommendations, without much detail on the size or scope of the city, and no overview map. Titled "Qatar a traveler's guide" but really only describes parts of Doha. Limited.

You would expect this thin book of 60 pages of large print to be FREE at a tourist counter in Qatar. A price of over $2 is ridiculous for this thin joke of a guide book. Nothing like a Lonely planet or Moon travel guide. A brief mention of the largest hotels, but no recommendations for cheap ones.I felt so gypped when I got this thing in the mail.

Ich hatte mich für Qatar - A Traveler's Guide entschieden, weil es der aktuelleste Reiseführer für dieses Land war. Als ich das Buch in die Hände bekam, war ich unangenehm überrascht: Gerade mal 56 Seiten rechtfertigen in keinster Weise einen Preis von 13.90€! Noch schlimmer kam es, als ich das Büchlein öffnete: 9 Seiten war für Notizen reserviert, 2 weitere auch leer! Wer kann sich schon Notizen machen, bevor er in ein Land fährt? Enstprechend dünn waren auch die Informationen: Nicht vergleichbar mit einem deutschen Reiseführer à la Marco Polo!

Sehr gut geschrieben. Man merkt , dass es jemand geschrieben hat, der dort (gerne) wohnt.Besser als die Bücher der "großen" Reiseführerverlage und man unterstützt einen kleinen Selbstverleger!
