Totally worth it
I got these headphones in January of last year (2011), and I wanted to wait a while before reviewing these headphones to see how they fared after a year of heavy usage. Overall, this is the best pair of headphones I have owned. Before these I had gone through 4 or 5 pairs, including 2 from Sennheiser. Not one pair had lasted longer than half a year.Pros:First, the sound quality is brilliant. These headphones give you everything. First there is the bass, which is amplified, but not overpowering. In any song with bass you can feel it and hear it very well. Second, you can clearly all instrumentals, especially those in the high treble range. I listen to a lot of hip hop, jazz, soundtracks, instrumentals and electronic music, and these headphones pick up all the little instrumental sounds you miss in other headphones. Finally, the vocals are clear and sharp. Some headphones I've had delivered great musical quality but it tended to overpower the vocals. This set balances the two nicelySecond, the detachable clip. This is crucial in a pair of headphones I think. The reason my previous pairs broke was that they had the cables fixed into the earpieces, and I tended to put my headphones in my backpack a lot when at school or what not. As a result it causes the cable to come loose. With this set you avoid that because it features a detachable clip for the cord, allowing you to safely store and fold your headphones. This extends its lifeThird, the build is very durable. I've dropped these headphones several times, and I constantly put them in my bag, and they work just fine.Fourth, this set works well for watching movies as well as listening to music. I frequently use these to watch movies on my laptop and they work just fine.So if you need a multipurpose head set this is ideal.Fifth, the set does not block of all outside sound. I don't mean sound isolation, but some headsets, when you put them on your ear, make such a snug fit that they block out external sounds. This set fits nicely, but does not block out all outside sounds. HOWEVER, because of the build, it is still quite easy to clearly hear music wherever you are. I use my headphones on the bus, train, at the university student center, and I even used em on an airplane, and they were powerful enough to deliver my music despite the significant outside sound. And as a bonus, I did not have to put the volume to max. In fact, because of the build, you never have to use max volume unless the song itself has a low volume, which is good for preserving your hearing.Cons:To be honest, I don't really see this head set as having any disadvantages. I can see how a couple of features might be problematic for some users.First, the cable length is quite long. This is a DJ headset so I can understand why it is long, but I use it frequently whenever I go out, whether to work or school etc. For others the length might be inconvenient.Second, the size. For people wanting a slim and sleek set this may not be for you if you are conscious of such things. The sound quality is delivered by good-sized drivers, which makes the overall set bigger. The set is not overbearingly large, but I can see how people would find it annoying.Anyway, for its price these headphones are totally worth it. I've had Sennheisers, and while I loved them, they had a bit of a flat bass. This set delivers more bass while emphasizing treble and vocals. Again, I use this for hip hop, jazz, instrumentals, soundtracks, electronic music and movies and it works well, and as a result I think it more versatile than sets like Dre Beats.

Superb Value
I don't have a lot of experience in headphones and audio in general, but I did a lot of shopping around before buying these, and I must say, I think I made an excellent choice. These are an enormous step-up in sound from what I was using previously. Overall, I would suggest them if you have the room in your budget. At first I was underwhelmed with the reproduction of the highs, but then I realized that it may have been a combination of needing to burn them in some and being underpowered (I had them plugged directly into my PC's 3.5mm jack). The only reason I am taking off a star is because I really think Shure could have stepped it up on quality. The included cable is fine, the carrying bag is neat, the ear cushions are reasonably comfy...but what really saddens me is that the body is essentially all plastic. I realize this was probably done in combination to cut production cost and physical weight, but it really makes them feel a little cheap. Also, I continually worry myself I'm going to break them. The padding on the top of the head is next to non-existent...so after 3-4 hours with these on your skull, they really start to get irritating. But that's not to say this isn't a common occurrence with other headphones...or almost anything that sits on your head for a while. Depending on how you adjust the band, there may be a slight clamping effect on your ears as well.In spite of some issues of comfort, I will again emphasize that these sound fantastic. These just simply blow everything else I've heard out of the water. I should also mention that by nature, they block outside sounds a fair amount so you're only hearing what you want.Take care of these and take some breaks from wearing these every once and a while and these could be the best $130 on headphones you'll ever spend!

SRH 750DJ Headphones
These are very nice, high quality headphones, and a great deal for the price. I scouted around on head-fi.org for about a month before finally settling on these 'phones, and man am I glad I did. Most of the forums I read compared these to the Audio-Technica ATH M50, which is around $150 dollars. I personally think the sound on these blows the M50's out of the water. They are very accurate sounding headphones, with a surprisingly large soundstage for medium sized cans. After about 60hrs. of burn in time, the sound is incredible! the mids and highs are clear and undistorted, even at rather high volumes, adn the bass presence is perfect for classical music. I've enjoyed every genre I've listened to with these, but I have to say that I think classical sounded the best. When compared to the M50's mentioned earlier, the M50's beat them out for bass, the type you would hear in hip-hop/rap tracks, but everywhere else the SRH750dj beats them out no problem. Definitely the best choice in terms of sound quality for the money I've ever made. On a different not, the break in process for these headphones sucks. It took about two weeks, and for those two weeks I couldn't listen to them for even an hour without them hurting my head. the problem is the headband, there isn't much curve in it when they sit on your head, so they press really hard into your head, and it takes a good bit of getting used to, but man, once you do, they are absolutely incredible! Don't let the break in process deter you in any way, the sound makes up for 100% of the discomfort you go through. In closing, they are worth every cent of $120 dollars. In fact, I would still buy them again if they were $150 or more. Don't hesitate, they are absolutely amazing. Oh, and no, I don't work for Thundersales. :)they really are this good. for more info on them, go to [...]
