Geneva Clock Co 8002 Advance Wall Clock

I am glad that I have learned to spot bogus reviews, largelly by comparing the statements with the bulk of the reviews. Some have said that this clock is cheap and cheap looking, and that it doesnt keep accurate time. THESE STATEMENTS ARE UNTRUE according to my recent experience. The clock I received is actually very good looking. It is not cheap looking at all, in fact it is actually elegant looking. It has large, almost 1 inch black numbers, and a glossy black frame. It also keeps perfect time because it is quartz crystal contrtolled. You just can't do better than that, except for wireless atomic clock control. Another person said that it is noisy. Nonsense! It is possible to hear it ticking if you listen carefully, but I have to tell you that I have a tiny battery operated alarm clock on my night table that is about 3 or 4 times louder. I consider this purchase to be a great value. It is about 8 inches in diameter. 1 in numerals, glossy frame, and is quartz controlled. Perfect for what I needed.

The second hand wouldn't move and I had to pay half of the value of the clock to return it! Not often I even write a review so this one is particularly disappointing

I bought two of them three months ago. One continues to work well. The other stopped moving in about a week. It continued to jerk but would not go forward. So I attempted to bend the hands somewhat with some success. Finally it got back to work regularly only after I took off the cover face lid, as it seemed the the movement of the hands were blocked by it. It went on for about 2 months, and then stopped. I tried many ways and found the only way it would move was if it faced heaven or earth. A clock is not worth much if it is so limited. But I still held on hope. Alas, after another week, it stopped all together, no matter how I place it. So that's the end of the story. Mind you, it is still moving/jerking, but the hands do not go forward, hence do not tell time.

This is a seriously flimsy, cheap clock. But it looks good on the wall, and nobody has to know that it's basically a 1/8" thick piece of plastic with the absolutely most inexpensive battery op on the back. You get what you pay for -- there's not much here. We'll see how well it keeps time. If it doesn't lose minutes as it runs, it's certainly worth the low, low price.

Very nice purchase. Looks good on the wall, and considering the price level does a good job of keeping accurate time. You may have to adjust a minute once every couple months. Battery use is decent, not great. Only problem I had was when I tried to rewind the time for 'fall back' daylight savings time. I did it while the battery was in the unit, and the clock transported me back in time. I suggest taking battery out when making larger adjustments of the time.

Nice, basic clock for my classroom. Somehow the school decided, in all their wisdom, that teachers could check the time on their computer, so no clocks were put on the walls. Obviously either they never taught, or they did as many teachers do...hand out a worksheet or book and let the class struggle along on their own. If you are an active teacher, you are very involved with the class, so you don't want to keep walking over to the computer to check the time. I have to pace myself to stop in time. This little lightweight clock stays mounted on the wall with just a push-pin. I can see it clearly from across the room and am doing much better at relaxing about timing the class. Thanks for an affordable, old fashioned, no-nonsense clock.

Worked for a few days, then occasionally. I finally gave up and threw the thing in the trash. Best part, it was cheap.

2 stars may be harsh, given the price. But I bought 2 of these for a project, and one just didn't work. So I can't possibly give it more than 1/2 the available stars. The build and material quality, which are and were expected to be poor, could be forgiven based on the price, but 1 being DOA can't.
