Great book to start talks with kids
This book has short 2-3 page chapters and is to the point. It has pictures and is easy to read. It describes OCD and how to handle it in a creative way for kids to understand. Each chapter has been a great conversation starter to talk about his struggles with my child

Great book for kids, and also adults
This is a terrific book. I am thankful for it as a parent of an anxious kid. I'm also thankful for it as a professional. It is written for kids, but as a therapist, I have recommended this book to as many adults as children. I have dozens of books on treating anxiety, but this one most effectively cuts to the chase with clear descriptions and concrete recommendations. The explanations of the neuroscience related to anxiety, the examples (school, family, environmental situations and whatnot), and the fun illustrations are accessible for kids. If an adult can accept the kid oriented examples, it is perfectly applicable to adult situations as well. Highly recommended for both audiences.

Great aide for both kids who worry about everything and for the parents/grandparents/teachers who are involved in their lives.
Written in layman's terms so easily understood. In today's society, some kids are faced with daily stresses in their home life due to peer pressure, family member in the military or public service, and they constantly worry about "things" which eventually can affect their everyday life. This book is written in a way where past toddler stage the kids can get a grasp in dealing with their worries. I have a grandson with Asperger's and he has anxiety issues when his routine has changed or is faced with something "new and unfamiliar". This book is written in a way that he can read it and understand how to control his worrisome issues, plus the author has guidelines for adults to help. I highly recommend this book for kids who deal with worrying and can have a meltdown due to it as an aide to help them deal with and control their anxieties. It's an informative and easy read.

Helpful book
I read this book with my daughter in about 2 weeks. The background info and easy to read style was helpful, as were the real-life examples. It was very manageable to read a chapter and discuss how it applies to life with a 12 year old in about 30minutes. It was easy to revisit previously read chapters as needed. Overall, a really well written book to educate the average person and help navigate hard conversations for parent and child.

Excellent!
This book is really excellent in content. Its perfect for my boys and it will go a long ways towards helping them gain the skills they need to be able to recognize and deal with their OCD behaviors. My one son who had PANS/OCD from walking pneumonia last spring, has been on Zoloft since. Over the summer, he received CBT which helped tremendously but as old behaviors were extinguished during that therapy, new smaller ones are springing up. I’m slowly tapering off the Zoloft and while dropping his dosage slowly down to half has been tricky, I have realized with the next half and remaining dosage that he needs to have some skills ready at hand and this book is perfect for that. Thank you Dawn Heubner for writing it!

Helped my teen
My daughter got sick to the point she had to be homeschooled. Her panic attacks, worry and anxiety were super elevated. These worries were heightened by not knowing why she was sick (besides strep throat) in the first place. She is doing much better now (praise the Lord). When I found this book, I thought it may help with left over worries as the new school year approaches. She loves to read, and said this book was very relatable to her fears and was glad to hear it wasn't just happening to her. She has seen therapist to help with her anxiety, but she said this book helped more because she could relate to what was being said and was easy to understand. She did read the book in less than a day (fast reader) and she really felt it could help others.

Amazing with so many practical tips!
I read this book to my third grade class and then I recommended it to all their parents because there are so many ideas that I really think it would benefit the students to hear it again and will absolutely help the parents as they read and discuss it together. So many students (and parents) suffer from anxiety that I just had to help them and I think this book really hit the mark! We all have a common language and they're hearing the same verbiage at school as they do at home for those that bought it and are using it at home too. Students in my class even use it with each other. I'll hear one student say to another, "It's okay, you're not in danger, but your brain is trying to play tricks on you. Don't let it." SO COOL!!

Enjoying this book, definitely for a child over 10 as terminology is difficult in parts

Cool and fun
I purchased this book for my 11 year old as he has anxiety and worries a lot. A lot of the books are for the younger children and haven't been totally suitable. This book seems fun and informative and looks great for a child 10 - 13 years (in my opinion) as the illustrations aren't too young and the book is written like a 'diary of a wimpy kid' style.https://www.amazon.ca/dp/1785927825/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=wildrushstudi-20&linkId=890faea499475c0d7314000b0114be56
