Great cost value, great quality, these batteries are impressive!
If you are like me, you must hate buying batteries at the store because: a.) they are grossly overpriced. b.) most stores do not sell them in bulk. c.) most stores have a poor selection of brands available. I needed to replace the 9v batteries in all of my smoke detectors and didn't have much time to shop around, so I stopped in at the local rite-aid store that was closest to my house, and was disappointed to find that the best deal was a 4-pack for about 12$. Begrudgingly, I purchased those, went home, and immediately went online and ordered the Duracell ProCell 12 pack for about $16 which was much more cost effective. It will be hard to beat this price (~1.3$/cell) at almost any store. I paid ~4$/cell at the local drugstore. Sure, maybe walmart or a hardware store may have bulkier options at a better price than a drug store. Even if they were the same price as the Duracell Procell batteries, you still cannot beat the fact that these will ship straight to your door at the click of a button and save you a whole trip, gas and more importantly valuable time. But, are the Duracell Procell a quality set of 9v batteries, as well as cost effective? Quite honestly, this is the first time I've been impressed by a pack of batteries before, but these 9v batteries have many features that show attention to detail and prove that these batteries are of the highest quality. - The batteries are assembled in the USA (Link for Assembled vs. Made in USA http://www.nspa.com/documents/AssembledvsMadeinUSA.pdf) - Expiration Date: Every battery was rated until Mar 2020. - Size: Standard 9v Cell, Fit perfectly inside my Smoke Detectors and dimensions matched the previous energizer 9v cell exactly. - Voltage: No Load - Every battery measured 9.62v on my voltmeter. - Protected terminals: Each cell is equipped with a protective plastic cover to prevent inadvertent discharge and maximize lifetime of the battery. - Satisfaction is Guaranteed: On the side of the box is a guarantee against any material and workmanship defects, and an offer to replace any item that was damaged by these batteries. There is a phone number listed; however, based on the superior quality of this product I expect the company is losing money by hiring an employee to man phones that never ring. Overall, the price, packaging, and quality of these batteries is excellent! I've noticed a few 1 stars due to issues with the quantity received, or 1 or 2 with low capacity. My recommendation if you do happen to have this issue would be to contact the seller, see if they will resolve it, and if its an issue with capacity contact the service phone number on the box. The caps on top of these batteries make it very easy to measure their voltage with a voltmeter when you get them.

No different than coppertop
For the record, the ONLY difference between Procell and Coppertops is packaging and marketing. They are the same battery otherwise, spec for spec, graph per graph... look them up. Procell batteries are aimed at "professionals" who don't need retail packaging. Only Coppertops come in blister packs that can be hung on store shelves. Procell batteries come in bulk packaging for easy use, distribution and access. All this aside, they are great batteries. My warning to online buyers is that you don't know how old your batteries are. These batteries have a 7 year shelf life, quoted from the Duracell website: "Procell batteries deliver outstanding performance with a 7-year freshness guarantee backed up with date coding." Knowning that, I would really like most of that life to be on my shelf, not the store/warehouse. I received batteries on 5-1-2012, they are date marked to be good til 2015. That means my batteries have been sitting around for 4 years. Knowing I'd like to get at least 1 year life out of the batteries I should really use them by 2014. That shouldn't be hard since this house has at least 10 smoke detectors. But just be warned if you are buying in bulk and check the date upon arrival. I appreciate sellers that list the expiration date. Beware of really low prices, as they may have batteries with only a year or so left. Hope some of this clears up the misinformation out there. Before you buy, check out this product and see if its a better price... it is the same thing: DURACELL 9 Volt PROCELL Professional Alkaline Battery, Pack of 12

Appears to be legitimate Procell by Duracell
Batteries were loose in Amazon envelope because original cardboard packaging for batteries inside envelope had burst. But envelope was padded and batteries do not appear to be damaged. Procell model delivered is not the currently manufactured Procell by Duracell, but an older model, according to product number on battery (PC1604). Also, expiration date on batteries received is 4 years out, while Duracell website states batteries are good for five years. I suspect these batteries have been sitting someplace for a year, and were perhaps obtained for a discount as obsolete models. Even so, battery condition is good according to my crude testing device on one single unit. I was concerned these might be counterfeit units because they are made in China, but packaging has correct company address and other info that leads me to think they are probably real Duracell, just obsolete models.

A bit pricey compared to other 9V batteries but hopefully will provide a higher grade of service. Will be using in critical applications such as smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
