Excellent initial quality; very bright
Despite the online suggestion that these bulbs would not fit my 2012 Toyota Avalon, I purchased them anyways and they do fit and work beautifully. These will fit either the 7440 brake lamp sockets or the 7440NA rear turn signal sockets. I purchased these in both amber and red to assess light color quality. Both are excellent. The amber is a true amber that matches the DOT stock 7440NA bulbs. The red is a rich, true red that again matches DOT requirements for a red rear signal. I like how the red lamps look in the rear turn signals and think I will keep those installed and keep the amber bulbs on hand if I want to switch the signals to amber. Either amber or red is acceptable for rear turn signals. The lamps appear to be of very high quality and fit snugly into the sockets with a positive "snap". I did have to turn them to make sure the polarity is correct. I turned on the hazard lights before replacing the bulbs so I would be sure to seat them properly in the sockets.I have never been thrilled with the performance of the 7440/7443 lamps. They never seem to be as bright as the 3057/3157/3357 series lamps though they are rated to be at least as bright. These Putco LED lamps are much brighter than stock and do a great job at filling in the reflectors with light and look completely stock when in operation. Because they create a point source of light, they work well in lamp housings designed for filament bulbs. I have used the Philips 7440 red LED retrofits which have a unique design that throws the light backwards into the reflector for excellent performance. However, the Philips did not seem to be bright enough in either brake or turn signal applications. The stock amber bulbs did create a visible orange color in the clear lens which did not bother me at all. These bulbs create a colorless, clean look for those looking for that feature.I purchased an electronic variable speed flasher from another vendor on Amazon that works flawlessly with these LED lamps. Replacing the flasher is a better option than wiring in resistors.I am extremely happy with the way these bulbs look and perform. I hope they last as long as advertised. I highly recommend them.

Good light output but looks different from what I ordered. Edit: Authenticity confirmed through Putco.
The bulbs that I received look completely different from the Putco bulbs photos advertised when I purchased them. I pulled up Putco's website and I cannot find a single bulb that looks like the ones I received, so I contacted Putco with attached photos of what I received and have not heard anything back from them on the matter (initial email contact from me was 3 days ago).It now appears that Amazon has updated their stock photo to reflect what the product I received actually looks like (more rounded, a grippy criss-cross ring around the top and bottom, and a white plastic base rather than the attractive metallic which is visible inside the taillight (cheaper looking than what I ordered, basically). Despite Amazon's new photo matching what I received, I still can't find anything on Putco's website that looks remotely close to it.The LEDs are bright and I do like the light output and color, but my concern is with the appearance of the bulbs themselves and making sure that they are Putco brand for the lifetime warranty they provide on their plasma LEDs.EDIT: Putco returned my email to confirm that these are authentic despite the difference in appearance and they carry the full Putco lifetime warranty. I can deal with the difference in appearance since they are warrantied for life.

Good for Brake, Too Bright for Tail Light
These lamps are much brighter than incandescents and they have a lens in the tip that focuses the light. I would use them for a brake light, but not a tail/parking light. The current draw is 0.5A, power is 7W.

Definitely worth the money...
These lights are EXTREMELY bright! I've been begging numerous vehicles where low quality LED bulbs have been used as turn signal / brake light bulbs and the brightness isn't strong enough to see that the brakes or turn signals are actually being applied. This leads to an abrupt hitting of my brakes in hopes that I don't rear end the driver! With these... no worries! Also... I installed these in a 2016 Chrysler and had no error codes. All in all... just perfect!

Disturbingly low quality for the price.
I have had these bulbs for under a month, and one of them already busted. Was driving around at night in the city, locked my car and noticed both tail lights didn't 'flash' to indicate the car was locked. Determined through process of elimination that it was indeed not any car wiring, it was the bulb itself. For $64/pair, to have one bulb go in just under a month is absolutely ridiculous, and I am literally 7 days outside of the return period.Suffice to say, I am livid, and have no means of recourse at this point. Don't buy these--go for V3 tritons instead. I've had a pair of those on one of my other vehicles for years, and they're still working flawlessly. Guess I learned my lesson!
