Wilton Fondant Impression Mat, Graceful Vines Design

This is a beautiful texture sheet. I bought it for polymer clay and it is so big I cut it into quarters, kept one and gave the rest to my friends .

This impression mat--and others in the collection--are much more durable than the Wilton work mat or the cake dividing mat, both of which are much more useful. These are obviously built to last. Which is ironic, because you probably won't use them as often.The design is pretty, tasteful, imprints very well, is easy to use and to store, and I can't foresee anything damaging it. It can be used on the fondant on top of the cake or--if you wish--to cover the cake board (or both). But, how many identical cakes are you going to make? It is a bit of an investment for 1-3 cakes, then what? Ideally, you will have friends with the other mats and you can switch around to other designs but, even so, this type of decoration while better than nothing, is a bit unexciting and monochromatic--especially for a cake important enough to rate fondant.I was required to purchase it (and a LOT of other Wilton products) for a Wilton cake decorating class on the use of fondant and gum paste and--now that I know how to do other things--I doubt I will use it again.

Love the pattern of the Mat. My fondant cake came out Amazing.

great product but pricey

I used this for my soap making molds. Easy to cut to cut and thick enough to stay in place. Worked perfectly for what I used it for.

Perfect for what I'm using it for which is clay. This leaves a nice imprint in the clay when you use a roller on top (Remember to spray the mat with a lite coating of WD-40). I have only used this on slab platters so far, I have attempted using it a pot I have thrown yet.The best part is that it is such a large sheet. I don't have to fuss with lining the mat up to make a long or wide piece, the mat is very large.

I use the fondant mat to line my cold process soap molds. Soaps come out of the mold embossed and beautiful.

Great design... however, I prefer developing my own clay designs. I think that this design would be better for cake decoration.
