Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light, Colored Sunrise and Sunset Simulation, 5 Natural Sounds, FM Radio & Reading Lamp, Tap Snooze, HF3520/60

This is the second Philips SmartSleep Light i've owned. My first lasted me a LONG time; and waking up to light is a game changer in regard to overall sleep quality. No loud noises; you can choose a birdsong or your favorite radio station to ease you awake; and this is an option under the Menu; in case the emerging 'Dawn' doesn't do the trick. I've never had to use anything more than the light source. Many of my friends don't believe that a light can wake you! But I say they don't know what they are missing. Once you understand the science behind Dawn Simulation you will understand why this is best for your sleep - wake cycles. Especially in the dark winter months; you can train your body to still believe it's spring! Magically. I like all the Menu options available; you choose when and how you want to wake but one of the really amazing features of using a Dawn Simulator is that you are also able to use it as a Sunset at night when you may want to read in bed to relax you into sleep. This is a unique and amazing feature; you set the timer for Sunset; and tuck yourself into bed - the light is brighter and very very gradually begins to fade into 'sunset' and dark. Your brain is easily and happily relaxing into sleep! I love this feature. The clock comes with a very easy to understand User Manual - and there are several Timers options you can use as well. The color quality of the Philips is excellent; soothing and bright IF you want it to be - you make the choices as to the amount of brightness you need or want. I'd HIGHLY recommend this product.

This is such a good alarm clock! Easy instructions, easy setup, and it truly does make a huge difference in waking up in the mornings. You can choose multiple alarm sounds, adjust the brightness of the "sunrise", and it even has a bedtime feature! We were skeptical of how much we would actually like this, but we couldn't function without it now! Definitely worth the purchase.

I have a very difficult time waking up in the mornings. This alarm has helped me some with that problem. It's not a miracle, but it's the best I've found so far. I will not blame the alarm clock for my "waking up disorder". The sunrise simulation is pretty helpful for making the wake up process a litte easier. I believe if it can wake me up, it could probably wake most people up. The light simulates a sunrise (both color and light), and gradually gets brighter leading up to your set wake up time. So, by the time you are supposed to wake up, your room is *brightly* lit up (you can set the brightness level). Personally, I have found that sometimes I feel a littel cheated out of my extra 30 or so minutes of "extra" sleep some mornings if the light wakes me up a little early as it "rises". Also, if you are a heavy sleeper or are very tired, you might just start covering your head with your covers to avoid the light- thus making the light a little less helpful. Another thing, I find the natural sounds to be a little too soothing/relaxing to really wake me up, and the only other option is the radio (which is usually annoying in the early am/ talk, and not music). It would be nice if there was an aux input or cd, but there is not. It does have dual alarms, which is a good feature. A warning, It is very easy to snooze this alarm- you simply touch it, which I am a master of, on any alarm- but especially on this one-it's like magic (and FYI, the light remains on, even when you snooze/touch it, which is helpful, unless you covered your head). I still set my phone alarm as a back up, just in case I snooze completely through the alarm- which is rare.. I do wish there was a battery back up. For this price, you would think it would keep time/wake you up after a power failure. Overall, I think this is a nice alarm- it looks good on the night stand, and the light is fantastic. It does help you wake up, even those of us that have a difficult time doing so.

Purchased: 2016 Age: 10 yrs going strong This has been the best addition to my lifestyle, completely changing how I wake up. Since changing to using a wake up light, I wake up more easily, and feeling more well rested (as you’re woken gradually not suddenly). It especially helps during the winter months. If you’re looking for a reliable, long-lasting alarm with a gradual wake-up and calm-down light, this is well worth the price. It’s very bright and has a simple selection of pleasant nature based alarm choices. The make and quality are exceptional, with a solid build that feels dependable. It carries strong brand recognition, which gave me confidence in my purchase, and it has certainly lived up to the reputation. Over ten years, the front buttons have only darkened slightly, and it still looks and feels almost new. In the last year, I’ve noticed the side buttons occasionally need an extra or firmer push, but everything else works perfectly without issue. If you are on the fence - just do it, you will not regret it!

I kept the box at first unsure if I was going to return it. It is important to follow the instructions to set it up correctly, afterwards I never had to worry about the settings again even after I unplugged it multiple times. It wakes me up in the morning with the light and it now helps me wake up at 6:15 am, while before I was struggling to wake up at 7:10 am. It has two alarm buttons, just push one and wait for the sunrise in the morning.

I'm really happy with this product. I found setting the clock and alarm quite intuitive. I like the feature of a 30-minute sunset, as it gives me time to get into bed and sort myself while still having light but I don't have to get up to switch my bedroom light off and turn my room into instant blackness. Love the peaceful descent into slumber. The light can get as bright as you want it - to me it simulates the sun. They say there are 3 colours to choose from but you can't choose. The light is more red and orange at low light and slowly becomes yellow as the light gets brighter. At first I was disappointed that there wen't any colour options but now I'm not sure I would use multiple options, as I would want to simulate natural light as much as possible. Some have commented there is no battery in case the power goes out. While this is true in a sense, I can say that when the power returns, the clock doesn't need to be reset - it keeps the time and alarms that were stored before it lost power. I'm not sure how long it keeps the settings before it needs to be reset. I unplugged it for an hour and everything was as before when I plugged it back in. So I'm happy with that. The radio is a decent quality. Not powerful but also not like listening to something in a tin can. Can also deliver a little bit of bass, so no complaints there. Very happy with this purchase.

普段は朝日で目覚めるので、除雪や早朝出勤のために、冬の日の出前に起きるのが大変でした。 使った初日から、朝日で起きるのと同じ感覚で目覚めることができました。 大変いい商品です。

Muy buen producto, si ayuda a despertar, pero es necesario tenerlo cerca de la cama. Buenos sonidos, buen nivel de luminosidad, y buena calidad. Tiene dos alarmas, yo una la uso para días laborales y la segunda para fines de semana. Las rayas en el video no se ven en persona.

Horribly expensive here in India. But cheaper than an air fare. I bought my original, glass, model (this one is plastic) in UK, but, after some years its buttons are failing. It is part of my wake-up life. Don't know how I could live without it. And, as I said, cheaper than an air fare. Is it worth it to YOU? At this price, probably not.

Ya llevo meses desde que lo utilizo y me encanta. Siento que cada mañana despierto de forma suave y natural y por ser un despertar lento no me duelen los ojos al abrirlos. También me encanta usarlo como lámpara, su luz cálida y suave me recuerdan mucho a las velas y en las noches es una buena opción para meditar si se activa el modo de apagado automático. Una compra qué realmente vale la pena realizar.
