heart-warming, powerful and thought provoking
I feel uplifted and inspired by Marianne Williamson's writing. Her book, Return to Love too. It is enabling me to feel a powerful connection with others and especially with other women. If only womankind could shed her all to prevalent fears and insecurities and see her wonderous strength and beauty. I would recommend it to anyone - in fact I would like to urge everyone to read it - guys too - because we need to listen - in these times of indivduality, destruction, mindlessness and aggression - to the need for community, truth and togetherness as human beings. Read it.

feminine empowerment
Inspirational wee book about rediscovering and reconnecting to your inner Goddess. Loads of snappy and quotable statements, some great rants, a bit too much God, but a very enjoyable read.

An important book that not only women should read but men as well
As a man with spiritual inclinations I though this book was phenomenal and really important for men to read. I am a student of a course in miracles and loved 'A Return to Love" so I wanted to read this book about women. First of all many men these days seem bitter at women and dating. Some men even think it is easier being a women. After reading this book, you can make a case how it is just as difficult being a woman. Williamson relates how the advertising media feed women messages how they are not pretty enough or even good enough. Even some rock n roll music disparages women. Some bitter men today are frustrated at the dating scene and feel lonely, disenfranchised and empty. However Williamson writes about the loneliness and alienation in this culture many women feel and how much many women desire a relationship with a man. Williamson writes how women have to find inner peace first and love themselves before they could attract a health man. If you reverse the genders the same could be said about men. Much of this book what is said about women can be said about men. I was awestruck at how Williamson mentions that many women (and I would say men as well) actually choose to date unhealthy partners because dating a healthy spiritual person could shine a light into ourselves that we are afraid to look at. I call these people "bottom feeders", dating unhealthy people so they can feel better than themselves. For example, a so called "spiritual" man who chooses a woman based solely on her looks/physique but she offers nothing expansive to him just so he can date a "trophy". It could also be a "spiritual" woman who chooses to date a biker "bad boy" with nothing expansive offer but excitement and testosterone.I would love as man to recommend or give this book to every woman I know but in reality this book will probably not resonate with many women. This is for a highly evolved person who is seeking a stronger inner life. This could be an intimidating book for a lot of people. Williamson calls women to be Priestesses and talks about feminine spiritual power. She mentions before our patriarchal culture emerged as it is today, women were revered for their spiritual power even by men. What I find so important after reading this book is the healing power between the sexes. It seems today that many men and women are getting bitter towards the opposite sex perhaps because many have been hurt in the dating/romance game as it is or have had bad experiences with parent or so called role models of the opposite sex in childhood. The anonymity of the internet has opened the door for hateful forums and websites from so called Mens Rights Activists bashing women. There are even a few "radical feminist" websites with some hateful comments towards men. If all men could read this book, they will see how it is extremely difficult to be a woman in our society when you are fed messages that you are not worthy. In fact unmarried women as Williamson points out are deemed "spinsters" or "old maids" while unmarried men are known just as bachelors. Look at the double standard that terminology. I think that if many men who have given up dating or are bitter at women read this book, they will become more compassionate toward the plight of women in our culture. What an extraordinary book about having the courage to go within to our deepest souls and be honest with ourselves, and ultimately make the world a more loving place for all.
