Review:I was impressed by this book, the series has done the unimaginable and managed to only get better and better as we go along. There is always a book you like less than the rest in a favorite series, but this “curse” has managed to evade the Guild-Hunter series and please please don’t sway from that path! The story was full of sub-plots and multitudes of storylines, but not for one second did it get messy or confusing, they were masterfully intertwined with another and all received center stage at one point or another. My favorite amongst them was the hesitation and fear from Elena and Raphael regarding his developing new mysterious powers. The emotional play between them with this issue was superbly described and handled. Also, there were many interesting revelations and developments with Elena’s family, which were quite enlightening. The action was awesome, it was like watching a top class war/fight movie, especially during the latter half where everyone, man, angel and vampire gets down and dirty. I’m usually bored reading about such battles, but it was so engaging and vividly depicted that it simply ended too soon. There were also some nasty moments that just gave momentum to all the fighting and blood spilt. Some itty bitty negative parts: I’m tired of Lijuan! Also, the end twist came out of nowhere without any warning. I liked how it turned out and how the balance was restored in favor of Raphael, but it felt slightly out of place with its abruptness and no hints beforehand. The universe of the series has expanded and continues to do that at a fast and enjoyable rate. Characters become more fleshed out and complex, and I like that the books give that opportunity to them to just become more. This world really feels like something that could actually exist, it’s realistic in a nonrealistic sort of way. I have to admit that I don’t read a lot of such urban fantasy/paranormal books, but I have really struck the goldmine with discovering this series.Characters:Elena and Raphael are the ultimate power couple. They are just overwhelming together and even apart. Apart from Roarke and Eve from the In Death series, I’d never thought that a book about the same couple could remain intriguing, fresh and gripping after one or two books, but I can’t get enough of the sexy angel duo. Maybe because there is still heaps to explore and solve in the confines of their relationship that it can’t get boring with so many topics still untouched. In addition, having other plotlines as strong pillars for their romance gives the story more meat on the bones, excitement and meaning. Whatever the magic formula, it works and I can’t wait for another installment with them as main couple.I cannot not mention the specific magnificent members of Raphael’s Seven who had significant roles in this book. Some were only mentioned in passing, unfortunately, but those who had opportunities to shine and were in on the action, really amazed me. The battles and their roles in them were awesomely showcased. I love those guys and my affections deepened because we again were provided snippets of new information from the backgrounds and mysteries of some of them. Also, I can’t wait to get my hands on Illium’s book!Overall:Another great addition to a great series! If you’re a fan then you will love it! Now, bring on the next one, I heard the hero is not going to be anyone from the Seven though, buuu, but oh well. I bet it will be fantastic anyway.

Soaring Romance, Epic Battles, Unforgettable Characters, What More Could You Want ..(Reading Order Included)
Where do I start with this book? How about it falls into the category where I want more than 5 Stars to rate it? It grabbed me almost from the first pages and never let go until the breathless ending.Angels have died, some vampires have contracted an incurable illness, the world is at the brink of war and that is just the start of things. Needless to say, I am officially notifying you that boredom is not within these pages. The romance between Raphael and Elena which we might have forgotten a bit is brought back to us in this novel as a force that is unending and is the type that is "life is not worth living without you" becoming a statement of fact and not just a proclamation of love. Most of this novel is spent on a trilogy of plotlines:- The depth of the love of Raphael and Elena- The mystery of who and why concerning the illness/damage to the angels/vampires of Raphael's New York- Elena's family history and current situation (we get a bit more info on her family's past)I say "most" because the final few chapters are more action oriented in the typical epic mold, I found the ending of this book on the level of the ending of "Return of the King", high praise indeed folks.I am not going to disassemble the plots in this review since that is why we read books but this is a great book and somewhere in the final 100 pages you will have to remember to breathe it gets so intense.Hang on for a wild ride but the ending would not be as intensive if not for the skillful way Ms. Singh manipulates her readers into the proper mood to make the ending the high mark that it is, well done once more by one of the genre's best authors.5 Stars because that is all I can give, it is worth more, trust me.Bottom Line: This paragraph is almost a repeat of an earlier one but it belongs here. This is what 5 Star reading should be, having you glued to the pages and leaving you with a thirst for more without making you mad that the book ended. A romance for the ages and a overarching story that you can't stop thinking about until the next book. Make no mistake; on the 29th of October when this is released, THIS is what you need to be reading. Just a clue, you won't understand the title until the last couple of chapters. There are books that are just as good (a very few) but there are none I can say are better, this is one of those that falls into the "THIS is why I read these books" category that has a extremely small number of books as its companion.Reviewer's Note: I would strongly suggest that any reader start with book 1 of this series to enjoy the excellence of this novel.Series Reading Order:1. Angels' Blood: The Guild Hunter Series 2. Archangel's Kiss (Guild Hunter) 3. Archangel's Consort (Guild Hunter) 4. Archangel's Blade (Guild Hunter) 5. Archangel's Storm (Guild Hunter) 6. Archangel's Legion (Guild Hunter) 7. Guild Hunter #7 - 20148. Guild Hunter #8 - 2015
