Helped with collagen and evening out skin tone
I love retinol cream. Personally, when I started using retinol serums straight, I did experience the purge everyone talked about. I had some deep break outs, which was the deep bacteria getting pushed out. It was really frustrating, but I waited it out and it stopped and now my collagen and skin tone looks great. I've honestly never liked my skin this much ever! This retinol cream helps even more with collagen, and hydrates as well.I purchased mine at a discount in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. Some really good information on retinoids I found - Why some people don't use retinol:1. You have no idea what a retinoid is. The term describes vitamin A derivatives that unclog pores, boost collagen to reduce fine lines, and speed cell turnover to even out discoloration and smooth the skin—sometimes in as little as four weeks. The first retinoid—tretinoin—was FDA approved (under the brand name Retin-A) almost 40 years ago as a prescription acne treatment. Dermatologists soon noticed that patients on Retin-A experienced not just clearer but softer, brighter, less-lined skin. Today there are three prescription-strength retinoids: tretinoin (brands include Atralin, Avita, Retin-A, Retin-A Micro, Renova), tazarotene (Avage, Tazorac), and adapalene (Differin). Many dermatologists find tazarotene stronger (and potentially more irritating) than tretinoin; adapalene is the gentlest but may be less effective.2. You don't want to go to the dermatologist. While prescription formulas yield the most impressive results, an over-the-counter retinoid, called retinol, can also improve lines and discoloration. Because retinol is gradually converted into retinoic acid (the active ingredient in the prescription creams) it is less potent. Count on 12 weeks before seeing results.3. You think a retinoid will make your skin sun-sensitive. "This is one of the biggest retinoid myths," says Doris Day, MD, clinical assistant professor of dermatology at New York University Medical Center (and a Tazorac user herself). "The ingredient itself is sensitive to sunlight, which is why you should apply it before bed at night." A retinoid shouldn't make your skin any more vulnerable to UV rays than it would be after buffing away dead skin with a face scrub. Summer is actually a good time to start a retinoid: Humidity makes your skin less likely to dry out as it adjusts. Of course, apply sunscreen (SPF 30, at least) as diligently as you always do.4. You're afraid your skin will look worse before it gets better. Retinoids can cause dryness, redness, and flaking—but if you ease in, you can avoid a rough transition. For the first two weeks, apply a retinoid every third night, says Leslie Baumann, MD, director of the Cosmetic Medicine and Research Institute at the University of Miami (who uses Atralin). If your skin isn't irritated, ramp up to every other night for two weeks. Not dry or flaky? Go for it every night. A few other irritation-mitigating guidelines: Wait 15 minutes after washing your face before you apply a retinoid, and use one pea-size dab to cover your whole face. After a few minutes, apply a basic moisturizer.

Marvelous so far!
I recently added this Joyal Beauty product to my skincare regimen. Due to having dry skin, I shall incorporate this product slowly. This company is wonderful! Every time I order something from them, I receive a prompt e-mail giving me detailed instruction on the use of the product as well as how to incorporate it with other products of the same line (i.e., in what order to apply, etc.) How refreshing is that? In the past when I've ordered several products from one company, it's been up to be to ask questions on the order in which to apply. I LOVE the fact that Joyal Beauty is a smart company in that they understanding that this type of product must be in a brown bottle with a pump. So many other companies sabotage their own products by putting them in jars where you have to screw the lid on/off - thus exposing the product to air which radically reduces the efficacy of anti-aging ingredients. I store my JB products in a drawer as well to keep them out of the light.Since I have only just begun to use this product in the last month, it will take a bit of time to see the full benefits. Retinol is not as intense as retinoid, therefore, more patience must be exhibited. Retinol is also not as drying as retinoid. Due to my dry skin, I follow JB's instructions explicitly. For the first month, I applied only a tiny amount once a week for two weeks, then twice a week for two weeks. Now in my second month, I shall apply (again a tiny amount) every other night. We'll see how that goes. One's skin needs time to adjust to this product which is why JB recommends taking it slow. Eventually in a couple of months, I'll be using it every night. This is a nighttime product only as exposure to sun with this on your skin can create unwanted problems. In my research, retinol products are a great way to reverse wrinkles, and I was thrilled to find this product. I adore all of their products that I've tired so far. Oh, and for the price, this cannot be beat!

Not bad for Organic, but better after adding Vitamin C serum.
This is my first time using this Retinol Serum, definitely a plus that it's chemical free! I wanted to use all the product up, before I left a review. As with anything, I know it takes a little time before you start to really see the full benefits. The product is like a thick clear gel and goes on easily. I used two pumps to cover my face and neck. After using it for a month, I did notice my face felt softer and smoother. I also have a couple of brown sun spots that it seemed to lighten just a tad, but not as well as I had hoped? Also the same with some slight wrinkles around the eyes, nothing significant.....hence the 4 stars. However, when I added some Vitamin C serum over the top of the Retinol Serum, I noticed a big difference! It really helped soften the mild wrinkles around my eyes and started to lighten the brown spots even more. After applying both and waiting for it to dry, I then dampen my face with a little water and applied a little Extra Virgin Olive Oil for moisture before bed. I've only just started mixing the two for a couple of weeks now, only time will tell the ending results. So, Yes, I think this is a good product with minimal results...but after adding the Vitamin C serum, it definitely showed better results. I will continue to use the two together, as I am very pleased with the results it has given me personally.
