Frigidaire Professional Pro-Select Digital 12-Cup Coffee Maker, Stainless Steel FPAD12D7PS

I bought this to replace a Cuisinart 12-cup maker that we loved, but which began to fail after less than a year (I have since sent that one back to Cuisinart for a replacement under their warranty and will review it under that product's review)The reviews left by previous owners really helped me choose this Frigidaire model. It is slightly shorter than the Cuisinart, but I find it more attractive. The carafe top is hinged to the carafe and pours beautifully without dripping. When my Cuisinart was brand new, the carafe and top did not fit together well and dripped badly. Cuisinart sent me a new one, but that one dripped too. As others have said, it is very easy to set your options. We keep our coffeemaker right next to the sink, so I just use the sink hose to easily fill it.The slow start refers to getting rid of the plastic taste. After reading review on most of the top coffeemakers under $150, many people complained about the plastic taste. After brewing 5 pots of clear water, the bad taste remained, although it was diminished with each successive use. On the 6th try, I used the cleaning feature to run to run a 50 minute vinegar rinse cycle through the pot. The 7th brew, which was clear water, tasted of vinegar. The 8th brew, again clear water, was perfect -- no plastic taste and no vinegar. However, the first two actual pots of coffee we brewed were somewhat ordinary tasting. We use fairly expensive coffee, so I was disappointed. But the next pot of coffee was wonderful. It was rich and full-bodied, and each subsequent pot has also been delicious. We brewed this coffee on the stronger setting. It took some effort, but we are very pleased with this coffeemaker.

This is my second Frigidaire Pro-Select. My first one lasted two years but as with this second one the pot cracked right below the handle. I can still use it, I just have to put a rag under neath it. I have contacted Frigidaire, they wanted a copy of the receipt. I copied and pasted a copy but they said it had to be as an attachment. I do not have the means to do that. I loved the coffee maker because it really gets the coffee hot and stays hot plus I liked the way it looks. But apparently there is a design flaw in the pots since this is the second one that cracked. And because I can not get anywhere with Frigidaire I will look for another coffee maker and will not purchase anything from them again

This is the second one I’ve purchased. I loved the first one so much that I bought the same when the first one crapped out. It makes a GREAT cup of coffee! I bought my second one a year and 5 months ago, and without warning, it has stopped brewing. Same thing that happened to the first one. It all looks good, says it’s brewing, but it doesn’t. It’s dead. This coffee maker should last a lot longer... that’s why it only gets 3 stars.

I didn’t NEED a new coffee maker but I’d changed the decor in my kitchen so ordered this one to better match. It’s looks great and has many good features. I like the built in water filter as well as the automatic timer. It was really easy to set up plus it makes a great cup of coffee! The only thing I didn’t like was the filter basket. It’s one of those gold ones that you can wash and use over and over or you can buy the 4” Merita filter cones. I was used to the “Mr. Coffee “ type filters and have a lot of them. But I’m getting used to the different filter and I’m very happy with it now.

In the past 5 years I've bought 4 of these coffee makers!!Pros - Beautiful design, Stainless Steel look! Making THE BEST (strong) coffee.Cons - It works only for about 1 and an half years ! I throw it out and re-buy a new one.... Ugg! The last one I bought here on Amazon 1 year and 4 months ago, it just died and I ordered a new ( my 4th)... HOPE this one will work longer!!

This just doesn't make very good coffee- and I am far from a coffee snob. Coffee is barely lukewarm after brewing, so I think it's a temperature issue. It also cannot handle the amount of grounds needed to make a full pot- even using the enclosed scoop. The search starts anew.

This is a nice coffeemaker.It's built solid and has two critical functions that can really affect the quality of your coffee, and then henceforth your life and all that.First, the burner temperature. Most of the cheap ones burn your coffee, making it too acidic and eating your guts apart. That's just not good for you. Second, the coffee strength setting; this is also critical. I've found it needs to be adjusted depending on the particular choice of coffee, how much grounds, and whether its fresh ground or pre-ground. Both of these factors have major impacts on quality joe production. It's also got the automatic shutoff, which is very important. I typically make small pots of joe in it, which it seems to do perfectly. It's a beautiful thing though, to be able to bust out a pot o' joe this size when you want it.It feels like professional equipment, I'm happy with it.Lovin' it actually.

Bought this coffee maker originally just over 6 years ago. It worked great, but didn't get much heavy use for the first few years. The last few years I've been working from home full time and so it gets very regular use now, generally brewing 6-8 cups a day. It died last week, acting like it was going to brew coffee but the element would no longer heat up. Hopefully the replacement lasts that long, but at the current price I'm not even worried if it doesn't.I originally found that the flavor and the way it made my stomach feel weren't so good for me. Turns out it was the filter, and buying the " If You Care Unbleached Coffee Filters, #4 cone, 100 count" http://a.co/d/4W6lsNP filters made all the difference.

I have had this coffee maker before and lasted a few years and it was used a lot! Love this coffee maker!

It's a good coffee machine,but if you want to buy another one every 3 years,you better think of another brand.Fot the price,it's not a good choice!!!
