I love the aesthetic of this book
I love the aesthetic of this book, and I'm also a huge fan of brunch..or breakfast in general and most of the recipes look or sound appetizing, which is the main reason that I'm rating this book so highly.As much as I love owning and picking up this book to stare at its pages, there aren't a ton of recipes that I would find myself utilizing out of the book, as some of the ingredients are too expensive to are too hard to find in my local grocery stores (aka the fresh figs with ricotta and honeycomb), or as another reviewer had commented, that the recipes can be a bit obvious ( the iced coffee, omelette with herbs). This also happens to be one of the shortest cookbooks I own, with only 30 recipes total, which I believe includes the drink recipes that there are exactly 7 of, and once again, some are very obvious, peach bellinis, and mimosas.What is a big benefit of this cookbook though, is that every single recipe has a full-page picture of what the recipe is supposed to look like, which I love, because it really does entice you to try the recipes out. I mainly only like recipe books with pictures of the end product, so this is a huge bonus to me.Many of the recipes are super simple and would hardly take any time at all to do, and there are some that contain a great deal of either prep work (custard tarts,homemade baked beans) or practice, ( soft cooked eggs, eggs benedict).What I do love about this book is that they can take something simple and add a slight twist to each recipe by adding something unique or unexpected to each simple breakfast staple, but once again, not revolutionary, but they look tasty!I do love to pick up this book from time to time for inspiration and that's why I love it so much. If you're looking for a quantity of breakfast/brunch recipes, you might want to pass on this book, but for me, it's a keeper.

Glorious Photos, but...
I absolutely love the pictures and design of this book. It's so clean and modern and fresh, and the angles and light are so pretty.I got this as a gift and was excited about it, and I like the organizational structure of it: It's divided into Late Breakfast, Classic Brunch, and Early Lunch. But as I read it, I discovered I already knew how to make a healthier version of almost all the recipes that appealed to me. Some of them were just so weird for breakfast, like Salmon and Sweet Potato Fishcakes. Maybe they wouldn't be if, like the author, you are British, I guess. On the other hand, there are some unique takes on old standards, like Pannetone French Toast with Coconut Milk and Creamy Scrambled Eggs with Goat Cheese. I'd say my favorite recipes are the Asparagus Fritatta and the Baby Custard Tarts. The second, however, is time-consuming, so I doubt I'll make it often.I guess the major redeeming feature is the section of drinks (raspberry and rosewater yogurt smoothie--yum!), including some delightful and imaginative morning cocktails (leave it to an English girl to come up with those, huh?)Kind of novice-y if you're an accomplished cook. Maybe a little challenging (though well-explained) if you aren't. But beautifully presented comfort food with an English flair, either way.

Delicious!
While some of the recipes are so simple, they are elegant and perfect for a classic brunch. I needed a book that has some time saving recipes and also has some creative recipes for a brunch I was hosting last week. My friend happened to have this one and since she never cooks, she gave it to me. I kinda think I want to host a pot luck brunch and send each friend a different recipe from this book and see how that turns out.....(Apologies for the way the photos loaded on their sides. I tried to fix it, but it happens every time I load photos to Amazon reviews)

Disappointing
THis book doesn't really offer information for doing a brunch. It has a limited amount of recipes. Some of them are as obvious as adding fruit and milk to store purchased granola. Or ones like adding icecream to coffee. There are much better breakfast books and brunch information than this book.
