One of my favorite books! Read to my students & then had to purchase for a family friend! Everyone should read this book!

I purchased this because my daughter’s name is Emma Kate and her nursery theme is elephants. It’s a cute story and I’m glad I bought it!

Such a fun book.

I bought this for my grandchildren for Christmas. We have loved Patricia Polacco books for 20 years. They never disappoint. I know I can pick up any of her books and the kids will enjoy it. All her stories are wonderful! The kids love to hear them over and over!

Beautifully illustrated and written, it is a story all kids will love, but the word count is much lower than what I realized when I ordered it for 4th and 5th grade kids. The story is so good, that it didn't really matter though.

My daughters name is Emma Kate, which is why I bought this book. I love the unique illistrations, and cute story line. While reading about emma kate, you are not quite sure who she is, you get your answer in the end in a very cute way. Im glad I got this book, its a keeper!

It's a nice story about the little girl's imagination re. her pet elephant and how he goes everywhere with her. It's a typical story for a child with a big imagination. But the pages are mostly pictures of a big elephant going with the girl, and there's a one liner story on every 2 pages. It's a very expensive book with only one line of story every 2 pages. I was not impressed. No matter how nice the pictures are, I still expect a story.

When Polacco was a little girl she had as her friend an imaginary elephant fashioned after Dr Seuss' Horton. This tale of friendship is probably just right for mid-first grade readers of English. There is a just a sentence or two on each page 'She loves my pet mouse Gwendolyn' and 'She sits next to me in class'. The pictures greatly support the meaning of the words. The redness of the girl's dress, bows, and socks makes for a lovely contrast with the sharp and smudged grey lines of the endearing elephant rest of the world. She is so skilled as an artist. She managed to get them both onto a bicycle! Better still, there is a twist at the end to delight all. In short, a book worth going back to again and again.
