A must for new mothers!
A wonderful read. I bought her first edition of the creative family before I even became a mother, and was so inspired by her. I was in my early twenties and I was still a long way off from having my own children. But Amanda's writing made me so excited for starting a family, and living a creative life! Now I have a 5 month old and just picked up this anniversary edition. I love both. This edition is truly a 'manifesto'. I carry it with me in my teaching bag and often thumb through it while on the go, or during a quiet moment in my day. The words bring me comfort and I am reminded to focus on the beauty of life, and how I might be able to share that with my son. Thank you Amanda! Your book feels like a bridge between one generation of mothers to the next...

Wonderful perspective and ideas
I love that this book presents a well thought out philosophy on how to integrate creativity in your family and parenting. It has great ideas that can easily be implemented and accomplished with little ones. It goes beyond art projects and discusses how to really integrate creativity into your physical home and family life. I absolutely love the idea that integrating creativity enables us to raise children that will be more successful in all aspects of their lives, because of their stronger ability in being creative in thought and intention. I absolutely recommend this book for all parents who want to create an intentionally creative home that really focuses on spending quality time together.

and enjoy nature with my three little girls
Amanda Blake Soule is a gifted writer and maker. She encouraged me in my creative pursuits as a young mom, giving me ideas and inspiring me to knit, sew, make, craft, and enjoy nature with my three little girls. Now my girls are in high school, I'm not quite as young, yet her writing still inspires me to look for the creative way in everything I do. Her writing is succint, clear, simple, funny, and full of goodness and hope for everything in life. This book is wonderful and I HOPE there will be more to follow!

Perfect
Important Note! This book is a reworking of her first book The Creative Family, meant to be updated for the next generation. Photos were taken out to make it more streamlined and portable.I received the Creative Family as a gift when I was pregnant with my first child and well, the rest is history. I cannot say enough good things about this book. If you haven't read it, get it! If you have, buy it as a gift for someone else! It's not just about projects to do (though there is that!) it's about the cadence of a family that's not plugged in all the time and whose time together is truly shared.I love the updated version with beautiful illustrations. In my mind, you can never have too much Amanda Soule in your life.

Perfect for Littles
As the book is entitled the creative family I assumed it would be a book for family members of any age. The ideas in this book are best suited for children ages 0-8 years old. Much beyond that and the ideas are a bit too babyish. Really good, albeit, basic ideas for how to be creative at home. Just mainly for younger kids.

Too general and very US
Despite appreciating the author's effort, I did not find this book useful or helpful. It is very general, common sense, and a lot of things are not applicable to a non U.S. person.

disappointed..
I expected to love this book, didn't have much to offer in the way of new ideas or actual craft activities (nothing new from what you can read for free on all the blogs/internet articles) if you want someone to tell you to purchase wooden toys for your kids this is the book for you.

It is really like the voice of a thoughtful friend
Having dipped into the author's blog over the years, I was keen to have a copy of this book. Amanda's shared ideas and observations helped me make the most of being home when my children were little. They are pre-teen now but already I have a some added ideas up my sleeve for celebrating the upcoming birthdays- thanks to this book! It is really like the voice of a thoughtful friend,
