Boss PetPrestige 30ft Large Dog Tie Out with Spring

So far, I'd rate this as a very good, cost effective option for a tie-out cable for your dog (or I suppose ANY other pet you might need to tie up for safety). I've ONLY had it for a couple months, but it has held up the few times I've had to use it for stretches. The durability is hard to quantify UNTIL I've had it for longer than these past few months, but so far it can hold up to a 55 to 60 pound golden-doodle who at times will test it's range vigorously. It seems to wear well in cold, frigid, snowy weather so far - but UNTIL I see it last longer than few months, I can't FULLY comment. Other than that, I rate it OVERALL 4 Stars out of 5!!!

I only gave four stars on sturdiness because after about two weeks there was still a kink after a not had occurred. I have bought many brands and this is thicker than the others. For the same price I got a much thicker cable with a better coding, and it's longer and the part that I like the most is the bungee spring that instead of jerking my dog when he runs too far, he has a spring loaded attachment that eases him to stop instead of jerks him!!! I have to buy these regularly because they end up kinking up and not working well because they can go easier when they're kinked up. For the linked in the strength of the cable in the coding and the shock absorbency feature, I will continue to buy this product regularly. Also the class is sturdy and I don't have to worry that my dog will accidentally come loose from the clasp!

Our dog is well mannered, but when he sees a squirrel or bird, he chases it and sometimes forgets how long his tie-out is. We see this happen and cringe when he runs out and snaps him back by his neck. We are afraid that he will run too fast one day and hurt himself. The spring will hopefully prevent that. The rest of the item is high quality but fades in the sun after a few months. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.By the way...this won't hold up to a snowblower running over it when it is buried and invisible in the snow. I found out the hard way but had no hesitations to buy another one.

Yes, you read that right. I feed lots of wildlife. Squirrels chew through everything, I needed something new. Saw this while looking for dog harness and thought it was cheap enough to try as a cable to hang bird feeders. It WORKS GREAT ! Squirrels tried chewing from top of branch, got through the plastic. Last time I filled I saw they had chewed just above the hook on the feeder - they got the cover off and then got to the steel cable. So far so good. If it rusts and I have to replace it it will still be worth it. Already bought a 2nd one and plan to get a 3rd. I'd use it to tie out my dogs for a short while but do expect the ends to rust. I would never tie my dogs out on anything for more than a short time so it would be perfect for me.

No, not that kind of tie. This is a cable that you can clip onto your dog's collar and onto something else like, say, a cable stake, and it'll keep your dog tethered and within sight. I've got a 45 pound Beagle/German Shepherd/Pitbull mix, and he's the sort that likes to go off exploring and escaping all the time. Well, with this sucker on him, my dog certain can explore all he like, but escaping is straight up out of the question. With a good stake, this cable will more than do the trick when it comes to keeping your dog safe and secured, which is pretty much all that matters!Do be careful when winding it up for storage, though, because once it gets bent out of shape, it can look pretty crummy!

I used this from my Chihuahua Rat Terrier mix as he loves to dig under the fence. He is only 11 pounds but 3 months after I got this it snapped in the middle. He is only outside in 10 minute intervals several times a day so I really expected this to last a lot longer.

Love the length of this chain. When we don't have time to take our doggy for a walk, we put her on this chain for a little while so she can enjoy the outside. Other than the fact she gets tangled up around our hedges, which is our fault, we love this chain! Worth the money. Best one we could find after doing all of the research. Recommended.
