Love It!
Love this stuff! I blow dry my straight hair, curl with big curling iron into beach type curls, & then let cool. Then I take a small amount of Grit and run through my entire hair (it sounds weird!!) and walla my hair holds awesome beach waves all day!!Without Grit my hair does not hold any type of wave/curl even if I hairspray heavily. I can not live without this stuff!!

Perfect for adding texture
This worked wonders for my thinning hair. My hair is starting to thin so it gives texture and makes it look fuller. I love it for hair wash day. Usually the day I wash my hair is the hardest to style because it’s too smooth and silky to take a style. This adds “grit” so that it keeps the wave and doesn’t look flat. I reuse it on 2nd and 3rd day also to fluff and hold my style. Does not feel tacky or greasy. Great product and although it is pricey- you don’t use much so it should last a long time. Would definitely recommend

Good dry shampoo, but not the best for adding texture or holding curl for thick hair
I think Amika makes good products generally and this one did not fall out of line from expectations. Before I speak on product performance, I'll give a little insight into my hair type. I have a ton of hair - thick individually, and a lot of it - that has been color treated. My hair is naturally neither oily nor dry; however, the highlights make certain areas a bit dry if not well conditioned. In terms of acting as a dry shampoo, I think this is, like most dry shampoos, better for light colored hair. I have dark brown roots and I find that unless I am very careful about ensuring every bit of product is well absorbed by massaging smaller groups of hair, I can end up having the product ball up and look a little like dandruff. There's a fine line between having hair looks 'gritty' and 'hip, versus just out right dirty and disheveled. If you have dark, thick hair you'll definitely be more prone to looking the latter than someone with thin blonde hair. Now, as a hair texturizing/holding product, I think that this really only works on thin hair. If you're hoping that you can recreate the light-scruffy-wave look demonstrated by the blonde-haired woman in the product photo, you'll only realistically only be able to achieve it if you have thin, fairly weak hair.Overall, in my experience, this product only performs as a dry shampoo, and nothing else. It is also most ideal for light colored, thin hair.

Good product does its job
It is effective in drying and puffing the roots of hair. It gives a stiff finish, would need to be careful when combining after using the product. Personally I would prefer a lighter scent, but I can see why some may like it.
