Gillette Fusion5 Proshield Limited Edition Set (Handle + Razor + Stand)

I was surprised at how useful the stand is. I’ve dropped my razors countless times having the blade fling off, but the stand has rectified that. The handle itself is nicely shaped and weighted.

Really quality razor handle and stand. The handle is much better than the standard one that comes with Fusion 5 as it has some weight to it. The stand is very nice and a great way to let it dry off after using. Really impressed with the value for the cost of the razor, stand and one blade.

I swear my blades work better with this handle. About a quarter of an inch longer than the stock Fusion handle, it makes reaching the back of my neck easier too. I didn't try the ProGlide blade that came with it but I am happy enough with the standard (and cheaper) Fusion 5 blades. The handle has excellent weight and balance. The included stand is heavy and it's a good way to store the razor between uses. All in all a definite positive addition to shaving and a real bargain also.

I like this better than the lab handle. I use the cool razors.

I'm an avid shaver. I actually look forward to shaving (haha). I shave with both cartridge razors and when I feel like pampering myself I shave with a DE safety razor. So I'm always looking for fun, interesting razors to add to my collection.I saw this limited edition Gillette Fusion 5 Proshield razor and I had to get it, especially since I actually never shaved with a Fusion 5 product before. When it comes to Gillette I'm usually a Mach 3 guy.Pros: It comes in a very handsome package, it definitely feels like you bought something of value. It comes with a nifty razor stand. Its small but nice enough to elevate the décor of your bathroom and keep your handle clean and presentable. The limited edition razor handle is also very nice. Its half metal and half rubberized plastic. I'm actually a little disappointed there wasn't more metal in the handle but its still a very nice handleThe shave itself is very nice. There's always a huge debate whether you need more than 1 or 2 blades in a razor but I definitely feel like it makes a significant difference. I'm a Mach 3 guy and even though the Mach 3 is more than enough for any average shaver, the Fusion 5 Proshield shaves smoother and closer on the first pass. Its the first razor I used where I didn't nick or cut myself on the first shave. Super comfortable and I had no skin irritation, skin burn or bumps afterwards.Cons: Even though the razor price is reasonable, when its time for a replacement head, its pretty expensive. To be fair to Gillette, a cartridge should last you about a months worth of shave (shaving 3 times a week, which is what I do) so a pack of 8 should last you 8 months. But even so, understandably, some guys don't want to spend 28$+ for refills.The other con is the lube strip. On the first shave the lube strip significantly deteriorated. It looks like a dog chewed up the lube strip. It doesn't seem to be affected in performance after a couple of shaves but it definitely is a concern for me that on the first shave it almost looks completely worn out.All in all, although being an avid shaver I'm never settled to one razor I'm always intrigued to shave with as many interesting products as I can, Gillette definitely has my respects when it comes to the Fusion 5 pro shield. When I eventually settle down I can see myself stick with the Fusion 5 pro shield. I just hope that future carriages have improved durability on the lube strips.

The handle is very solid but doesn't have as many grooves for the fingers to rest on so it could slip (hasn't happened to me though because I try to be careful upon seeing this issue). Don't get the handle too wet.Other wise a good product, the stand is sturdy and heavy perfect for the razor to rest on. Clean razor too, I like the precision razor on the back for my brows :)
