The velcro pocket closures failed almost immediately. I bought these for a trip to Europe and so need the pockets to actual seal so I could store money, passport, etc. in them without risking them falling out. Within two or three days of wearing them, the velcro was already failing and it didn't take much longer for it to fail altogether. Additionally, the zipper pocket does not actually have a pocket attached. I could not even place a small coin inside that pocket, so it was completely useless. I assume this is just a defect in these pants, but it certainly was disappointing to find.The good thing about these pants is that they are canvas instead of the nylon that all the other zip-offs seem to be. They are quite comfortable so I had high hopes for them, but without pocket closure, they were worthless to me for travel.
