A truly magnificent book, both in its depth and accuracy. Did 9/11 have nothing to do with Islam? The Charlie Hebdo Attacks? The Brussels attacks? The Paris Attacks? The London Bombings? The Madrid Bombings? The San Bernardino Attacks? I can go on and on and on...the attacks are endless because Jihad is a doctrine of Islam. Nothing to Do with Islam is the missing ingredient so many illiberal apologists for Islam have been waiting for. What you teach people matters, what you believe to be the world of God matters. The Quran, The Hadith, and The Prophet Muhammad all endorsed Jihad against non-Muslims, and so we have Jihad. It really is that simple. Until more moderate Muslims and so-called liberals insist that Mosques, Imams, Muslim religious and political leaders not only denounce the acts of terrorism, but the words that inspire them, we will continue to lose the battle of ideas and the battle for our lives, way of life, and civilization. If the upper echelons of general readership know little or nothing about the dangers of Islam to Western society, author Townsend's book will give them enough information to place them into the top 10% of the U.S. population vis-a-vis the subject. <Nothing to do with Islam> is well written and accurate. And it's not hard to get through. This reviewer found it to be a bit on the 'dry' side, but this is not to say that it is boring. The author is well informed about his subject and sets things out nicely, especially his tips to counter claims by Muslims and their fellow travelers that Islam is a religion of peace. Mr. Townsend tells his readers why this and other such claims are false, and where the proof lies. I wouldn't recommend that readers stop with just this book. There are many other readable books on the market that will round out the subject for newbies and make them into tolerably good defenders of Western philosophy, which is under attack by the Muslim hordes (and on American university campuses).This is the sort of book that the youth of America should be reading (and which they are highly unlikely to be directed to at American universities). Many non-Muslims are prone to want to lump Islam with Christianity as one of the major religions to worship the one true God. However Islam is better described not as a religion but instead as a style of life taken up by 7th century denizens of the harsh Arabian Desert. Allah's messenger Muhammad despised Jews after they would not become his (Muhammad's) followers. That very same attitude prevails even into this present day in the minds of committed Muslims (who are legion in the world). Christians fared little better in the time of Muhammad. Westerners will be much the better and wiser for learning from Townsend and others of like mind, that Islam bears no meaningful relationship with Christianity.Those Christians who want to believe that fellowship between them and Muslims is a reachable goal will, one hopes, be disabused of such naivety upon reading Townsend's <Nothing to do with Islam>.

I've become an atheist by studying many of the "major" mass religions. Peter Townsend's books "Questioning Islam" and "Nothing to do with Islam" are outstanding - no doubt. Naturally, I've read many other books about Islam including the Quran. - To my punch line; I am absolutely puzzled, to say it mildly, that anybody can possibly believe in and follow a 7th century "religion" like Islam in the 21st century, let alone commit brutal terror crimes in it's name based on nothing but a good dose of brain washing ! .... SCARY !!!! Giorgio

It is rare to find an author like Peter Townsend who communicates to the average person some of the sad and horrible truths about Islam. Mr. Townsend's choice to provide Islamic sources to show the truth is beyond highly persuasive. As a writer Mr. Townsend is one of the BEST. I love his simple direct quotations to prove his points. Their is so humor in comparing Mr. Townsend's work to that which passes for Islamic graduate level in that Townsend provide's a scholarly approach so far above Muslims who write on the Islamization of Knowledge.Keep up the good work!!

Very good book detailing Islam in a way that many people around the world will find shocking. The book has 349 references so you can go to the authors sources and read them for yourself. I have read many books about Islam and this one is one of the best. Everyone should learn about Islam to help them understand what is going on around the world and why it is happening.

This is a thoroughly researched and clearly written book. It can be of great help to Muslims born into Islam, and those who have chosen Islam later in life. I defy any Islamic scholar to find any errors in fact or interpretation.This book, is in line with other authors investigating Islam and the many violent deeds done in its name, like Dr. Bill Warner, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Walid Shoebat, and more. In short, the truth is being revealed and none too soon.Just three or so years ago it was easy for proponents of Islam to put on a nicey nicey program by essentially misleading the audience with quotes from the Mecca portion of the Quran, saying the word Islam comes from the same stem word as peace, etc. BS to schmooze the innocent. No longer.

This is NEED-TO-KNOW stuff! Every household in the civilized world should be apprized TRUTHFULLY of what is going on all around them. If small children can be allowed by ignorant nonmuslims to visit mosques to be serreptitiously indoctrinated, small children can begin NOW to learn the truth from informed nonmuslims about the muslim invasion that will consume their future! Read this book and wake up to how the west is being destroyed by a stupid elite and it's media.

The latest 'read' in a now growing backlash against so called multiculturalism concentrating on the muslim faith and its utter incompatibility with western democratic values. It quickly shreds the myths and lies the liberal media and political leaders spout and - using the Quran as his source material - puts out a few brutal home truths about this vile religion and its behaviour. He openly challenges Muslims (or anyone) to discuss or dispute such matters and is rightly over keen not to steep outside direct reference to the Qur'an - a clever move avoiding racist / phobia attacks this faith and its elk instantly deploy to avoid awkward conversations. Marry 6 year olds. Have 4 wives. Own slaves. Beat even rape your wife. Females actually valued at half the worth (at best) of a male. Kill blasphemous folk. Kill those who try to alter Allah's words. Kill homosexuals. Kill none belivers.Kill those who do not practice the faith hard enough. Force those you don't kill into making payments and a life of humiliation / violence - the list goes on and on and on and Mr Townsend quotes it chapter and verse from the Muslims holy book and takes no prisoners from the apologists who would try to hide or cover these matters up.He thereby draws the obvious conclusion that Islam is a violent invading religion and contains none of the live/let live, turn the other cheek verses or fables typical of almost all other religions. That jihad is repeatedly demanded of all good Muslims and this is apparent in there behaviour from national internal violence to bloody borders of muslim nations to their neighbours to global terrorism currently focused on the west. He is excellent at dismissing the older often quoted peaceful verses in the Qur'an (Muslim scholars ALL agree older verses are over ruled by newer ones.) None of the newer verses have any shred of peace or tolerance about them - not a single one.An excellent read.

A very disturbing read and a real eye opener that puts the politically correct base standard response to any Islamic terror attack – “Nothing to do with Islam”, or more perversely, “Islam is a religion of peace” – firmly into perspective.The governing authorities and reporting media in the west are terrified of tackling this problem as they do not want to break the rules of political correctness and like to portray themselves as “decent, compassionate human beings”.Wake up western world and educate yourselves, learn all you can about the Islamic faith so you cannot be fooled and blinded by the spin from the cowards that run our countries. This book is a good place to start and remember knowledge is power.This book is so truthful and factual that I’m surprised someone hasn’t tried to have it banned. The author's belief in his thesis - that Islam is and always has been a deadly threat to other faiths - is passionate and in many ways persuasive. His explanation of how Islam began, how the prophet Mohamed ran his sect and how it has come to be based upon more than just the Koran - is revealing for those who have never looked at it before. And on this basis he proves his case emphatically.But as is the case with Christianity, so the fundamentals are not the whole picture. There have been numerous periods when Christians (of varying sects), Muslims (ditto) and other faiths have lived harmoniously alongside one another without anyone wishing to immediately slaughter their neighbours. That proves there is an alternative Islamic tradition to the one portrayed here. Christians have happily slaughtered one another in the name of their versions of the very same teachings, and we know Muslims have very similar - and equally destructive - schisms. It is hardly new to observe that organised religions have been and presumably will continue to be the root causes of more wars and suffering than mere greed and territorial conflicts.This is not examined, and nor are the periods of peace. Nevertheless, if one bears this in mind, this book does help one to understand in part why disturbed people will from time to time find in the Koran and allied works 'justification' for perpetrating horrific crimes against their fellow men.

This book examines the foundations of the religion and analyses the character, actions and teachings of the prophet; all of which are soundly based on the Qur'an and several Hadiths.I can hear it now..."You've taken it out of context" "You don't understand". What's easy to understand and hard to take out of context is the sheer hatred and contempt for non-believers at the very core of the whole religion.

This brilliant and detailed analysis should be compulsory reading for all western politicians and journalists, many of whom are ill-educated and totally misinformed concerning the religious basis of Islamic hatred of the west and its liberal values. Written with a logical, critical and balanced view based on proven facts. This book is an eye opener for those that believe the narrative from the mainstream media and the political quislings.

An astonishing book that we should all read. The author quotes extensively from English translations of the Koran that have been made by respected Muslim clerics and which are therefore accurate. The inescapable conclusion is that the Koran is the only mainstream religion that actively encourages violence to wives and death to non-believers.

Outstanding book. Breaks the koran into chunks for analysis. It has nowhere to hide. And in very easy, reasoned language.

A book focused on, not just islam itself, but more importantly the modern Western worlds recent reaction to it. We (the Western world) have allowed ourselves to be deceived, and joined in our own deception, despite hundreds of years of historical events, the texts themselves, and the example of mohameds own life. islam is a totalitarian imperialist ideology, and should be viewed as such. Not welcomed into the west as if immigration without assimilation can be anything other than invasion.

This book descibes the Koran in an easy understandable way but not only the Koran but also the hadiths or traditions exercised in the believe of Islam. It's an explanation of how Muslims live their lives in the believe of this faith and gives explanations of why jihad (just one of the parts of the Koran) and many other things still exist in this faith. It is a revelation and should be read by all "unbelievers " especially politicians but also anyone who believes in freedom.

Peter Townsend is a highly well read, deeply researched, scholar of Islam who holds firm on all its issues; current and historical. Read and share his very accessible books

Enlightening book if you want to learn about the true nature of Islam - religion of hate!
