Bestpresso Whole Bean Coffee (Extra Dark Roast, 35 Ounce 1 Pack)

Avoid these beans at all cost. This has got to be some of the worst whole bean coffee I have ever had. I love coffee. I consider myself somewhat knowledgable. But I fell for the price for quantity trick here. The beans have a distinct odd odor and taste not associated with good coffee. It is almost rancid in flavor. There is no coffee flavor. There is no coffee aroma. These are not Arabica beans. They are terribly roasted Robusta beans. This company out of Brooklyn should be ashamed to call itself a coffee company.

I wouldn't have rated this as badly if their customer service was better. I reached out to them to tell them I didn't really like it. Got an email saying that perhaps we got a bad bag of it. They would replace it with another or something else. I chose something else. No more response from them, no new coffee.The coffee had an odd flavor. I drink pretty much anything...and dark is my favorite. Not sure what was wrong.

I purchased this coffee because I'm looking for a decent tasting, inexpensive daily drinker, and this seemed like a good value; you get a lot for your money. I usually grind my beans fresh, and I brew my coffee via french press, or espresso machine.I use a coarse grind for french press, and I typically steep for 4 minutes. I wasn't really able to get much flavor out of this after trying different grind sizes and steep times. The coffee just tasted kind of weak and watery, and there wasn't really much flavor. Not impressed.I recently gave this a try using my espresso machine. To grind the beans, I used a Breville Smart Grinder Pro with the internal burrs set to 10 and the dial set to 15. This combination turned out to be perfect - my shot came out flavorful and medium-to-full bodied, without any bitterness, sourness, or other unpleasant flavors. I found that any coarser or finer would lead to a pretty nasty tasting shot, but this combination worked well for me and I'm pulling pretty enjoyable shots.Are there better tasting and higher quality coffees out there? Absolutely. This certainly isn't winning any taste awards and it isn't going to blow you away. That being said, you do get a lot of bean for your dollar and it's a pretty decent blend. If you're looking for a decent coffee to test out your espresso-making skills, this might be a good option. I'm looking forward to giving the dark roast a try next.

I tried this on a whim because we were used to another brand but it's harder to come by. Decided to give it a whirl and this coffee is awesome! Tastes just like the other one and Amazon makes it convenient and easy for me to get it monthly with subscribe and save. Highly recommend!!!

I was skeptical of this coffee based on the price but after reading the reviews (apparently not enough though) I figured I would give it a shot and I am sorry I did. This isn't my first time buying coffee, not by a long shot, so when I opened the bag I recognized the unmistakable smell of old unusable coffee beans. They were brittle, broken and smelled like they'd been roasted eons ago. I chalked it up as a bad batch and waited to see what the second bag I ordered for my business smelled like. You guessed it, the same stale dry nasty coffee beans as the first batch, and it was a different roast altogether. The sad part is that even though it was ordered via prime it can not be returned. There's a line saying there is a 60-day guarantee but strangely, no way to contact them (at least that I could find in 20 minutes of searching) My advice is to stay away. Spend a few more bucks and get something that you can at least stand drinking.

1. When I first opened the bag, the first thing noticed was a stale coffee odor. Clearly a disappointment!2. When I made a cup of (pour-over) coffee, the beans were NOT intact, but looked like floor sweepings. Clearly a second disappointment!3. Upon brewing the coffee, I came upon my third disappointment! A terrible taste! Three strikes and you'r OUT!!!

I'm not a fan of oily beans, so I opted for the medium roast. It is a little darker than what I would call a medium roast. It certainly does not have the same fragrance you would get from higher quality beans, but it is not unpleasant. Rather the flavor is very neutral and nutty. No acidity (sadly) but nor is it burnt or stale tasting.It's awesome for the price, and if you're looking for a pretty okay cup of coffee at a very economical price, these beans are for you.I plan on mixing some more expensive lighter roast with these to give it a little extra depth of flavor.

No flavor to coffee, let alone a dark roast. Beans are small and rough looking. No aroma out of the bag or brewing. I threw away after getting a headache from drinking a cup. I attempted to reach out to seller, but I had no luck in getting a hold of seller. Certainly, not as described and not sure what I am drinking. Customer service is nonexistent.
