I now own four of these gates and I'm very pleased with my purchase of them. I started off with just two to test them out for a while in one room due to some of the negative reviews. I will say that from my experience with multiple gates is that this is a high quality product at a decent price considering that this is a metal unit that does not look as obtrusive in your home as many baby gates do. Installation: Take your time here and make sure to get it right. As noted in other reviews, your gate will come bowed out - this is so that it can maintain tension using only the bottom bar across. As you properly adjust it during installation, it will even out and become straight. After a few months - or anytime you notice that the gate is not functioning the way it should, you may need to take out the little wrench they include with purchase and make some minor adjustments. Mine have held up with minimal adjustments, even with a toddler that likes to stand on the bottom bars and shake at the gate at times. Use: My gates swing closed fairly well and consistently. If you let the gate go gently, it will not latch, but if you are walking though, and just let the gate swing behind you, it does a fine job of latching on it's own. There have been a few times when my gates have not been closing properly, but upon closer inspection, I just needed to make a few adjustments to bring the gate back into alignment. The latch mechanism has held up well to the tugging and pulling of a toddler without fear that the gate would open - that was one of the points I was nervous about in getting baby gates that would swing open. I have these gates installed in openings with a variety of widths, and in my opinion, when using all of the included extensions, you will probably also want to use the wall-mount hardware, as you can feel some give in it. I had it installed for months without it, and I never had a problem, but as my little crawler turned into a toddler, that then began putting more stress on the gates at times, I just feel better with the wall-mount hardware installed. The gate closing by itself can be loud, but this sound also helps you know that it has latched, as it sounds distinctly different if it fails to latch. If the volume is a problem during nap time and such, I would just gently close it by hand. I also really like the height to these gates. My little guy can climb on just about anything, but he can't make any headway to trying to climb over this gate. The one negative that I have experienced is that when he stands on the bottom bars, there is the chance of his little leg going through to the other side. I wish the bars were just a bit closer together, as he has gotten his leg stuck once and then he fell down with his leg up in it. It didn't do much more than frighten him, but it is a slight cause for concern. Overall, as far as baby gates go, I am very happy with this purchase, and have been adding to my collection of them as needed. They are sturdy, functional and stylish enough to not disturb the look of your room too much.

This is the third gate I purchased, and FINALLY, I found the perfect gate. I run a doggie daycare business out of my home, so I wanted a gate that would keep the dogs safely inside during client drop-offs. The first two I ordered weren't aesthetically pleasing, and I was so overwhelmed trying to install them that I gave up. This gate is so beautiful, and it took me no more than five minutes to install it. It's nice and sturdy and so easy to use. If you are looking for a high-quality baby gate that will add to the beauty of your home, this is the one!!!!

Got a new puppy and needed a 3rd gate so this fit the bill. Easy to install, looks very nice. Easy to use and does the trick, my dog can watch everything but be safely behind the gate as not to get hurt in the kitchen. Good buy, very sturdy.

This is a great gate for either a baby or pet. I I have a 8 month, 70 lbs pittie, yes she is a big girl. We started out with a regular white plastic baby gate (the common ones for around $20) but even though she couldn't jump over it, she figured out a way to get over by unsing the wall and her own weight to balance over it. Once she learn that strategy, there was no stopping her. Another down side about the regular white plastic baby gate is that you have to jump over it, not so easy when you have groceries in your hands. Which takes me to the best part of the walk-thru baby gate. The door is able to stay open in order for you to keep walking though without having to keep opening it every single time, all you do is simply push it until you feel it lock, kind of what your car door does when opening it all the way, preventing it from closing on you. It has a great strong lock when you close it and the button on top that you use to push in order to open is super soft, so you push with your thumb and lift just a little. Very sturdy and easy to assemble *****caution: when you first open your new walk through bby gate you will see the door is NOT aligned evenly with the rest of the gate. When you open it you will see what I'm talking about, well don't worry and certainly do not try to pull them together, when you assemble it against the wall and begin to tight up your bolts to fit your desired area it will all come together and even on its own***** The assembly was super easy, and the best part is that it has multiple panels to add or removed inches to get the best fit, and you can save the rest in case you move or need to have a different area gate. Once positioned, you can start tightening the bolts evenly with the little tool provided for you (so no holes on your wall!!) and voila it is set. I love how great it looks, not cheap or flimsy. The color is great because it can match many different color schemes. I gave it all 5 stars because, it's easy to assemble, looks super nice, is much more sturdy than the white gate we use to have ( we had to put books on the side to make it tight and even then my puppy would always knock it down lol) and the door is just perfect, swing shut after you walk though reassuring you that your little love one, fur or no fur will be safe on the side you want them to be on. It's totally worth the money spent, because more than likely you will not need to purchase another gate for a long time!!

It looks and works great! It was a simple installation, and was up in no time at all! It’s heavy and solid, and despite the long walk, was delivered right to my front door! It’s secure which was a big concern, and I am relying solely on pressure! I was looking for an attractive pressure gate, with security, height and an easy install… that’s exactly what I received! The auto shut was a bonus and it arrived quickly! Well worth the money! If my opinion changes, I will write an update, but for now, I am thoroughly pleased!
