Metra 95-6549 2-DIN Dash Kit For Select 1997-2002 Jeep Wrangler with Harness Combo + FREE Tweeters

Perfect fit for our 1998 Jeep Wrangler TJ, I can't say enough about how well it went together and how factory it looks. I modified mine just a little to add a 6 switch panel in place of the factory switches and the ashtray.

Good quality dash kit. I’m not a smoker but be noted you don’t keep your stock ashtray it does give you a small replacement one. Gives you good information on how to install everything. You will transfer your vents over. Also depending on how big your radio is you may have to cut more space open for the radio I used I didn’t. I did have to add to bolts to the left side since you don’t keep your old mounting location on the left. You do on the right.

Easy install. I did discover if you get a stereo without a cd player such as the Sony ax1000, it’ll install without cutting your dash. My only complaint is that the cubby they supply is pure garbage. The pocket doesn’t go out, so anything you try to put in it just slides right out. Wish they could have just re used the original ash tray. Overall I’m happy.

The media could not be loaded. I have a 2002 Jeep wrangler Apex and this does not fit completely. When you remove the idk dash kit, there are only two screws holding the unit. I have to cut off the left lower screw hole when I cute the plastic above the heat control. Then I had to drill two holes on the left of my dash to put In my double din 7” PLZ head unit. You must keep two of the clips for the lower part of this dash kit. I also had to use spacers to bring the heater unit forward, but that caused the kit to not click in on the bottom. I chose to leave it like that as the gap is massive around the heater unit. With the spacers it is less, but there is still a gap. I don’t smoke, but I think losing the ash tray is annoying as I wanted my dash to still look somewhat stock. It was also frustrating taking the head unit down many times to get it to mostly line up. Overall this works ok, but it’s not great. I also don’t know how well it will last as it’s only attached by the screws on the top.

This isnt the kit for the 95-2001 tj jeeps. It is for the later models.

This item is well made I was happy to feel how solid it was fits just perfect on my 2000 tj, the order was missing the brackets and ac unit spacers, but I got in contacted with the company, and the gentleman that answered was very professional I felt comfortable all they ask was for pictures of the date on the box flap, and the send me my missing items, I'll do busyness with them again for been responsible that is something that a lot off companies lack on.

Worked well and fits well . Factory look.

Needed to do a little modification to the mounting bracket, but it worked fine after. Way better than the other one I had picked up before that turned out to be the wrong one. Reminder to DOUBLE CHECK to make sure it will fit your TJ before buying, will not fit post '02 Jeeps.
