The three main characters of the book are Mishki, her brother Pushka and Daadu Dolma. In this book, Mishki and Pushka go around Delhi with Daadu Dolma and as a reader, I got the feel of the city, its history, important landmarks and also why the city was named so. The author has also touched upon the market places, various other landmarks and she has even mentioned the history of the Barakhamba Road.  The book has been made interactive with mazes, jumbles, quizzes, and even a treasure hunt. There are beautiful illustrations and photographs.The author has described the history of the city in a way that is easily understandable, as also the monuments. I came to know certain things which I was not aware of before.  If, while travelling around Delhi, you take this book along, I am sure it would be very helpful.She has talked about the Delhi various modes of transport in Delhi, like the Delhi Metro. Delhi is a foodie place and the author has described many joints in Delhi and the famous food they serve, book stores in Delhi, the world Book Fair, some important festivals of Delhi and things that make daily Delhi so unique.I really enjoyed reading the book and actually made a list of to do things from the book like the monuments I need to visit, the food I need to try and also to travel in the bus number 620.This series of discover India city wise city is a must read for everyone, old and young.

Well, the author wins this battle too. She uses the terms like ‘Delhi Triangle’ and ‘The Ridge’ to capture the attention and explains in short sentences- just enough information for young kids.Discover India- Delhi is a well crafted and well-designed book that will allow young children to learn about the people, their lifestyle, the city’s climate and the other necessary facts.
