Python Programming for Beginners: An Introduction to the Python Computer Language and Computer Programming (Python, Python 3, Python Tutorial)

I wrote my first line of code, in ForTran77, in 1986. I've written a pretty good bit of code since then in a variety of languages. This is an excellent primer if you want to learn Python3 syntax. For those that have never written any code...this should still be pretty easy for you. The coding examples are straightforward.As with any book on language syntax, there is errata in this one. Unlike other people who complain about errata in text books like this one, I don't. Debugging is part of code-writing. It's hard for new people today, just as it was hard on new people when I first start writing code almost 30 years ago. It is monumentally frustrating if you're new, but it's the price you must pay if you want to learn this skill.Don't be discouraged with the book's errata, or your own mistakes. Part of your learning curve is understanding what the interpreters error messages mean when you execute your scripts.The author walks you through installation (for Windows, Mac, and Linux), modifying your path variable (don't worry if you don't know what that is), and executing simple scripts.If you're completely new to coding, or have lots of experience, this is a great intro to the basics of Python.

The first and last time I wrote code was back in 1997, out of sheer necessity. But too many years have gone by since then and recently I found myself wanting to re-learn this lost skill. When I came across this little book, I was intrigued! I knew I was going to need a lot of help, because whatever I learned way back when was in the too far distant past and it was just like I was a beginner all over again. This book is perfect for someone like me! I need every step explained in simple terms and everything laid out for me, making no assumptions about my previous knowledge. I love the fact that the author includes screenshots and is so thorough with every step. It is obvious that this author knows his subject well and wants his reader to learn it also. At this price, you can't go wrong with this book! Highly recommended if you want to learn Python programming!

This book provides a quick overview of basic Python programming for beginners, just like it claims.However, it might be more beneficial for some users if they already have a prior programming background or a clear idea of what they actually want to do with Python. Without those, the examples in this book can be difficult to contextualize.

As an absolute beginner with coding and not even good with computers, this book was very helpful. It is very clearly written and covers topics in short, clear sections. It also gives clear explanations of what could go wrong and why. That said, do not think any book alone is going to create a great programmer. Only much practice will do that. It helped me a lot to do all his examples myself then follow along with his instructions when I got stuck.

This book is for beginners but I suspect that more experienced programmers are reading it also. It starts off with detailed instructions on downloading the program and that is a good thing for beginners.This book is small but it's really just what most people need to start creating small aps. If you want to be a Python pro then you will get a great start and feel for the program thanks to this book.The important things is that the author must have a teaching background because he feeds us beginners with bite sized chunks and then builds on them. This is good instruction. The book is a great intro. to Python and programming in general.

Some pictures are too small to see on my ipad. Otherwise, readable and informative. He provides a free book: Common Python Errors. An easier book than this one is Baby Python...For those of us really python challenged.

I am getting back into programming after about 15 years so I am a bit rusty to say the least. I know lots of folks in the networking and data center space who use Python as their go to language when they need to prototype a program quickly. I wanted to learn Python for an upcoming project and was blown away by how clear this book is on getting you grounded on the basics of Python. It really is a very fast read. I went through the entire book and coded the examples in two days. The book was that good. Highly recommended.

It is not an accident that Python is usually the first language taught to young programmers. I am sure someone could find something to criticize about this book. I personally believe this is the best first book about Python that I could have found. It needs to be studied but it is easy to understand. I give it 5 stars.

This little book is wonderful at providing introductory elements to Python programming. It assumes no previous knowledge whatsoever and does a beautiful job at teaching the reader all the main concepts of this useful language. Once this material is mastered, one can confidently move to more advanced texts.

This book gave an easy and clear overview of programming in the Python computer language. I am not an experienced programmer but I could understand the examples given in this book
