4 New Rockford Fosgate R165X3 6.5" 180W 3 Way Car Audio Coaxial Speakers Stereo

purchased these Rockford Fosgate speakers after reviewing about 10 sets of different brands. I have a factory set of Rockfords in our Mitsubishi Outlander and it just rocks so I figured these would do ok in our Pontoon. so, I purchased the R165X3's and matched them with a JVC stereo. I have to say I wasn't expecting such an awesome sound as these put out. I set all my EQs about mid-range and wow these speakers just plains rocks. I have great bass and just an awesome sound. I would buy these again. great buy for the $$

Installed in my 2006 Nissan Sentra special edition to replace a blown factory speaker. My factory speakers were a lower ohm rating than these (couldn't find an exact replacement), which explains why these are a little quieter at lower volume than factory speakers (they don't draw as much power from the amp). When I run up the volume, these sound much clearer than factory and they maintain themselves a bit better than the factory speaker (they don't break up/distort as fast). Total overall volume is indiscernible from factory when cranked. Installation in my car was annoying but that's Nissan's fault. Once I was able to remove the seat back and other nonsense in the way (again, Nissan's fault), installation went fast and flawless. These came with speaker covers and extra wire that I didn't need. Glad I spent the extra money on these as there are cheaper ones out there that have bad reviews. Very happy with the purchase!

Installed these in the doors of my 2009 Honda CRV. The OEM speakers were still in there and didn't sound perfect but they didn't sound bad either. After installing the RF 6.5 to replace the old speakers I am so glad I did, these sound amazing compared to the 16 year old speakers I took out. Very clear highs and even has decent bass if you do not have a sub. They were budget friendly. Easy to install by myself with Honda mounting adaptors and did not interfere with my windows rolling down in front or back doors. I would recommend these for someone wanting to upgrade their factory speakers still using the factory stereo, but I have mine connected to an aftermarket radio with matching watts per channel. Be sure to install speaker tape around the speaker to make a good seal between speaker and mounting adaptor/surface.

Installed the speakers in my 08 350Z. We have it paired to the five channel RF amp. Great sound quality and ease of installation. Love the end result and quality from the speakers and system.

The civic of speakers. Reliability. These speakers have been in 4 vehicles and counting. I’m not a stupid driver, other people hit me. Now listen here, when someone hits your door panel, usually you have to replace the speaker. Not these ones. All 4 speakers have survived 4 wrecks and 2 being majorly close to damaging the speakers. I still use these speakers today and it has been something like 5 years. The magnets never misaligned. The most reliable speakers as long as you don’t amplify the bass frequencies. Get a subwoofer if you want low louds. The size fits perfect in every vehicle I’ve ever put them in, the sound range is perfect for the price, use tweeters for high frequencies and use subs for low, these play the mid ranges perfectly and don’t start distorting until the headunit hits 3/4 total volume without an amplifier, which is what happens when your speakers don’t get enough power. Works well with my pioneer headunit. The setup is straightforward. I can’t remember if they came with wires to crimp but regardless, I just crimp capped the connection all 4 times installing and I had 0 issues. Absolutely amazing speakers for the price would recommend to anybody who wants to impress their friends and family on a budget. Pair with an aftermarket headunit and an amplifier for best sound quality results.

Bought these to replace the stock speakers in the wife's 2015 Ford Fusion. Needless to say I was surprised to find out that it's not a direct fit. The stock speakers are mounted as part of the plastic housing. I'm sure there's a housing bracket that's used to put aftermarket speakers in, but screw that. I dismantled the old speakers and cut the plastic risers for the cone and the wires where the housing brackets plug went to the cone as close to the cone as possible. Drilled holes into the plastic housing to mount the speakers and soldered the plug wires to the speaker tabs.I wasn't sure what to expect but I was sure I'd hear significant improvement.. what I heard was unbelievable clarity and amazing sound! The richness and fullness was incredible!You can't expect to much from a 6.5 3-way speaker for base but it was way better than I expected. Honestly the base was good enough to feel the vibration in the floor boards and my pants legs and the volume was only 3/4 to max! Needless to say I'm very impressed and highly recommend these speakers! I've been a long time fan of Rockford fosgate speakers.. this is more proof of their quality.
