I looked a long time for a blue tooth speaker because I wanted something good for my exercise room
I would give the Big Blue Party ten stars if I could. I looked a long time for a blue tooth speaker because I wanted something good for my exercise room. I looked at and listened to a Bose Sound Link Mini 2 for a couple of months but I just couldn't convince myself to buy it. I finally did buy it after a final two hours in the store but I returned it unopened the next day.I finally hit the right search terms, "blu tooth boombox" and found the Brookstone Big Blue Party on Amazon. I knew within a few minutes that this was the speaker I wanted. The Bose is about 17 watts. The Big Blue Party is 72 watts, half of which powers a subwoofer!Once I adjusted the treble and bass the way I wanted I got deep, thumping bass and crystal clear highs. It sounds great with most of my music. Some older music just wasn't recorded very well and doesn't sound all that great on this speaker but most of my music sounds just AWESOME! I listen to current pop music and 80s rock like Tom Petty. This speaker has 72 watts and is rated for 4.5 hours of use before it needs to be recharged. I listen to it at about 2/3 volume during my workouts and I was able to get 8 hours of use on one charge spread over about two weeks. The red light was blinking and it was down to 1 (out of 9) on the charge scale but it was still going strong when I finished and plugged it in.I highly recommend this speaker for anyone that wants a big thumping speaker to help motivate them during workouts. It really fills the room and is uncomfortably loud at full volume. I never used it outside so I don't know how it sounds without walls around it.

This thing is the read deal!
I am a music freak and when it comes to sound quality I am a bit of a snob. I own many bluetooth speakers (Bose Sound Dock Series II, Bose Soundlink mini, Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio, JBL Charge 2 and a UE Roll2). I also have an Ion Tailgater. They all serve a purpose. Bose Sound Dock is a great speaker, solid sound, but not good outdoors. I bought a Bose Soundlink mini for travel, which was good solid sound, but wasn't durable and better suited for indoors and not the beach. I have a HK Onyx Studio for my office.....and it has solid sound and I prefer it over the Bose Sound Dock. I use the JBL Charge and UE Roll for travel, specifically golf. The JBL is good sound, but takes up a cup holder on the cart, so using the UE Roll and having with the strap is perfect for the golf course and sounds really good. So why the Blue Party? I needed something that I could tailgate with, use outside in a small party setting, take to the beach, was rugged and just basically sounded good when I turned it up. I heard one of these at a tailgate party a few years ago and I was impressed. Then I was walking through ATL Airport and heard this amazing sound coming out of the Brookstone store...and I was sold. Today I received the Big Blue Party and I must say......Wow! It is what I was hoping it would do. It filled a 25 X 25 room easily. You put it against the wall and the bass just booms. It sounds good low, as well as loud. I will still use my other speakers, but this will be my go to speaker for outdoors, tailgates, beach and even the pool. It is rugged, will travel better than the Ion and actually sound crisper than the Ion. I highly endorse this speaker. I would not spend over $200, but I purchased it for $149 and it is well worth it.

Meet Your New Party Girl
Specs. are accurate. This beast weighs over 12lbs and stands nearly 17inches tall. The handle does not fold and feels like it is embedded within the heart of the device therefore, feeling very sturdy and durable.Top has a rubber-water-resistant top with simple buttons controlling volume, bass and treble. Power button is in the front "blue ring" that also works as the bluetooth pairing (pulses while pairing and emits a tone when "paired"-pulse stops. LED (blue only) can be controlled with a secret button on the bottom of the device (turn off to conserve power). Has a "NFC" option for connection but, seems to require bluetooth simultaneously. Instructions are vague regarding confirming/pairing NFC versus bluetooth (small little circle on top of device indicating where you're supposed to place your device to connect via NFC). Glowing internal red LED when charging. Red light goes out when done charging. At OVER 12lbs this thing is sturdy and not easy to knock over. Sound quality seem excellent however, your quality is only going to be as good as the source. From a standard cell phone (LGG3) using Pandora and streaming -connection via Bluetooth I would give the device a 9 out of 10. At max volume there is very little distortion and has good bass treble quality which are both adjustable on the device and your streaming device. I put this device outside, in the middle of a field on the ground and at more than 60ft away it was still plenty loud enough to hear. This device is a must have for your camping trip. The device has a 3.5mm audio input so you can plug your audio in from your projector/bluray player and have an "outside movie night" while you are camping (of course you'll need your DCtoAC inverter, battery, etc.). Tried to plug in a 3.5mm microphone into the aux but the mic wouldn't work. Not sure if you could NFC/Bluetooth AND 3.5mm aux for Karaoke night? Rubber button between power and 3.55mm audio input provides "battery" level indicator (makes LED's on top light up indicating remaining charge). There is no visible screws available to remove and maybe replace the battery-so..... probably find something online that demonstrates this when the time comes? Specs indicate a battery life of 4.5 hours but, a very low levels it seems to never die. Comes with an AC charger and no other accessories (no 3.5mm cable, no case/cover, Probably the first thing to make will be a coma-water-resistant cover and/or make/buy a DC plug-in charger.Probably gonna buy this device one of those bluetooth-Cloud-based voice services (alexa?) a wig and dress it in some lingerie ..meet my new party girl!

There not honoring the warranty
Nice speaker but I have returned it for another one on two occasions because one of the tweeters was making a hissing noise.

Amazing sound and quality. Highly recommended
I bought the Big Blue Party earlier this month for a family reunion and it was the life of the party. It provided excellent, clear sound with a deep bass.

All about that bass (and some treble)
This amazing device has been involved in so many aspects of our lives in the last two years, it’s almost a family member.
