Superb sound at a great price but with limited options/Modes
I thought about buying this or the Speakercraft CS3 for a long time. I finally gave in and bought it. So far, Ive had it for a month and I really like it. Its really loud and sounds great provided the source is good of course. The lack of Dolby processing isnt an issue for me. I did find a few movies in netflix that wouldnt produce sound so I changed my TV audio out to PCM and problem solved. The bass is pretty impressive in this pedestal soundbar, It sounds just as good as any HT Subwoofer Ive heard. The control is small and the lack of a digital display is annoying but its not a game breaker. My biggest complain about this is the total lack of modes in it. There are only two modes: normal and virtual surround. Virtual Surround sounds fantastic so I just leave it there. The problem starts when you have a movie with lots of sounds and the voices are low. Youll either have to play with the treble and bass on the remote or just use your TV or PC equalizer to make it sound better. I just wish there was at least a mode to hear the voices better integrated in the soundbar. To be clear, that depends on the sourced used. Blurays and DVD movies sound great in surround mode. Music sounds fantastic in this thing. Bluetooth mode is easy and flawless. I have my PS4 connected to this and the games sound great as well. The Neighbors will hate you.EDIT: Almost 2 years later and very little use, its dead. It makes a popping sound every few seconds and wont turn on. Led turns on for a few seconds then turns off on its own. I guess its dead. Best sound for the buck, until it randomly dies.

but it's actually quite good. The magnetic grille is a nice touch
At $199, it's a bargain. The layout of my living room forced me to put my TV on a stand in the corner. A soundbar would block the TV remote sensor so a pedestal was what I needed. I listened to the ZVOX 580 and the Pioneer, but decided on this one.Pros:I was most surprised at the bass extension of this unit. I didn't think the small 5.25" subwoofers in such a small enclosure could produce much bass, especially at the lower frequencies, but it's actually quite good. The magnetic grille is a nice touch. Dialog sounded a bit muted when the EQ was flat, but with the treble up a couple of notches it was surprisingly natural sounding. More than loud enough for everyone in my 400 sq ft living room to enjoy.Cons:The remote is the worst I've ever seen - small, cheap and laid out poorly. It is near impossible to see the on/off LED with the grille on. Surround mode is terrible, but perhaps this is just my opinion as I have never liked any simiulated surround ever. A bass/treble/volume indicator would be nice.In a dark room, not having any indicator lights is actually pretty nice though since it doesn't distract you from the TV. You should be adjusting these based on the sound and not level numbers anyway, so not that big a deal I suppose.Overall, very happy with this purchase. It's certainly no match for the full surround system in my basement, but that cost me thousands to put together properly. At $199, this was extremely simple to connect and fit my situation perfectly.

Great Sound, High Quality
Wow, I'm really glad I read through a bunch of reviews of other name brand soundbar systems and found this one mentioned. I was not impressed with any of the reviews of other soundbars and was just about to give up on the idea all togetrher until I saw this one referred to in another review. I never would have found this otherwise. I have never heard of this brand before, but it is of the highest quality. The weight alone shows a lot went into the design and execution of this speaker. The sound is really full and rich with easy bluetooth and TV connection. This will replace two large floor speakers, a receiver and a bunch of wires. Nice clean set up that sounds great.

For a year & a half the unit worked great, then for a few weeks the unit sporadically would shut off or lose its sound (especially in the middle of a movie), start popping like static, then power off. Now the light do not even light up. Looked for a reset button, Looked to contact proficient(cannot find contact info, "luckily" I bought the 4yr warranty, Waiting to hear back from "square trade", I threw my box out so I have to find one big enough to send it back. to be cont...

Audiophiles Should Take Note!
What a great product, and an even better buy. As far as I can tell, this is the same soundbar as the SpeakerCraft (a sister division) which originally retailed for something like $600. Ir replaces a Vizio soundbar/wireless subwoofer combo, and while the Vizio did fine, you would never consider listening to music on it. This one? Very detailed, very dynamic, and the bass is simply amazing, particularly without a separate subwoofer. The Bluetooth feature is also handy for streaming music from an iPad.It's an audiophile's answer to using a soundbar.Highly recommended.

Amazing!
Three days so far and absolutely amazing!both for music and video. Very rich and deep sound. I am replacing my Denon S-101 with it.Update June 2016. Still works great up graded tv To an lg 65in 4K. Since the legs on my new tv are wider it then the speaker. I had to build a shelf that goes over the speaker to hold the tv. But the speaker base still has room filling soundUpdate May 2017. Almost 3 years now and it still works great! Recommended it to colleague and his works well as well and he uses his 100 percent of the time watching tv. The only issue when I am watching internet tv on my smart tv. Like Netflix or prime, I don't it doesn't work for that. But I think that has more to do with the tv then the speakerMay 2019 it still sounds great! GOT sounds really good on it. I thought it would have failed by now and I would have gotten a Sonos but its still going strong ( knock on wood)

The unit has nice sound and is an improvement over any flat screen TV's sound. It is loud enough in a 12' by 20' room from my position about 9' away. Its position under the TV is nice and uncluttered and actually raised my TV to a better viewing height. The negatives are a small remote and the blue off LED in front is hard to see. The red on LED is a little better. I have to take care to make sure the unit is off. Over all I'm happy.
