Please do yourself a favor, just buy them!!!!!!!!
like the title says do yourself a favor, just buy them. i have no words to explain this towers ! and im coming from having a 7.1 bose cube system which is not bad but i just realized the aren't great. I first got the subwoofer because the one that i had was weak and laking, so i went with the klipsch subwoofer "R112W", amazing moster it shakes my apt like crazy!! okay okay okay :D later i upgraded my receiver to the onkyo TXNR-656 at that point i still had the 7 bose speakers, but sound started to sound better after the onkyo receiver was installed, quite a nice upgrade from my old receiver. Couple weeks later i decided gave it a shot and bought the klipsch center speaker "RP 250C" due to my limited space in my cabinet had to get the those instead of the rp 450c but we can later change that but once again woooooaaaahh !!!!!!!!!!!!!! this blows away the little bose jewel speaker, at this point my happiness was increasing while my fiance was was decreasing "big speakers ruin her decor " hahahahahha okay okay lets keep going, sooo yeah i got the center channel and it was an epic upgrade, i had my eyes on this towers for a long time and i wasn't sure if this would be a good idea not because the price but also the size and i live in a small apt, also my fiance said NO ! too much money too big too bla bla blaahh well because im a bad boy i didn't listen to her and because amazon is sooo bad to me that they drop the price from $599.99 to $479.99 yeah how convinient right ?"thank you amazon *whispering voice*" well sorry fiance but they are coming home wuahahah !! well first impression: those are big huge boxes :D very good looking boxes by the way, again my happiness to the clouds while fiance face was steaming red. Well i took them out of the box and place them in my living room, hook them up to my onkyo receiver and projector epson 3700 "nice little boy" projecting to the boderless aeon elite cinegray 3D 120" played some music and WOW WOW WOW WOW and then more WOW after the WOW i re-calibrated using the mic included with the receiver and PUUFFF my mind just went to another world !! ***IMPORTANT***LISTEN GUYS there is a option on the receiver called FULL RANGE after turning that on woooowwwwww !!!!!!!!! i dont even need my subowoofer any more ! this thing puts out a lot of bass, yes you heard right bass like a subwoofer ! how ?!?!? dont bother asking me because i have no clue, they just put out deep clean bass as my subwoofer does, and all happened after i turned on full range for front channels ! hey guys do you remember about the mad fiance ?? guess who ended loving them as much as i do ?? surprise surprise ! she love them too hahahah !! i will keep you guys updated in the future after the break in period ! klipsch you guys are awsome ! thank you very much !!!!! and yeah guys don't think about it just do it, click that order button now and thank me later :)

Subwoofer !!!Not Floorsatnding Speakers
Heaven on Earth!!!!!!!!!! Before writing, I will love any reader to look for my name on this site and how i praised Polk Audio Speakers. Now let's begin!! My first speakers was Alses Monitor 2, Then followed Mordaunt Short, Bowers Wilkins , Jbl and then Polk settled. I had the Polk Rtia7, then upgraded to the Rti12 with Rti6 as my surrounds and Center. I was the champion in the house i live in till another guy came to occupy the basement. I realized the guys system was better than mines and also thought i might be some DJ speakers that he was using. Luckily for me, our pipe get clogged and in trying to fix it my self, it broke and water spilled all over the kitchen and affected the guy at the basement too. Luckily it was in his kitchen too. My Landlord called me to go witness the damage caused. That's when i saw the guy's system was KLIPSCH R26F with a 10" subwoofer. I didn't believe my eyes and was still not convinced. I still hated Klipsch speakers due to two drivers and how people were complaining about how too bright they are. I was Using a BIC 12 sub at the time and even upgraded to Cerwin Vega 15. My quest were not fulfilled. I continued researching speakers from audioholics, audiogon, Canuk audio and many forums. With the system i had, and not getting the right sound, i was advised to change my speakers. Bowers Wilkins CM10, Monitor Audio, Polk Lsim, Canton, Dali Zensor were the ones on my list and with tight budget, I didn't know how to. One day through my searches, i saw my company has started selling Klipsch. I asked questions from several forums but didn't get the answer i wanted. Followed youtube videos as well. My company gave me a loan and i decided to take a risk and try the KLIPSPCH RP-280F and i can return it after a month if i wasn't satisfied. I Purchased the RP-280's, RP-450C and RP-160M. The beauty it brought to my room alone can be compared to my beloved Polk. Secondly came the sound, initially i wasn't impressed but i know speakers need time to break in before. Now this is the real deal. I turned off my SVS Ultra 13 off to listen to music. The Sound coming was too much for me so i thought there was something wrong. I bend over with my ears to the sub and didn't hear anything. I got up and smiled!! What a sound coming from these speakers. Now i believe in sensitivity of klipsch speakers. The Bass is crazy. Now i have packed all the Polks and uploaded them on craigslist, offerup & ebay for sale. I don't need a Sub for music unless i'm watching a movie. Also like they say, room accoustics do help. Carpet floors are better than raw wooden floors. Very high quality set of floor speakers
A fantastic set of floor speakers from a well known US brand. They sounded fantastic right out of the box, look great, and are of great build quality. They were also very easy to set up. We are still breaking them in, which is normal. A good set of speakers take 50-60 hours of use to fully break in. These speakers make a great addition to a home theater surround sound system. However, they really shine when being used for listening to music. They are very crisp and clear producing no distortion. Mid and high frequencies are fantastic from this set, Bass production is good and very clear but not overpowering, does not product a ton of thundering thump. I do only have them hooked up to a 60 watt per channel amp so they are not full powered. The speakers are rated up to 150 continuous wattage and peak 600. However, the less emphasis on bass is typical with Klipsch products. The bass is by no means bad, but probably not the best option for an avid hip hop listener. wanting to shake the house. These speakers really shine with Jazz, Classical, Rock and Roll, blues, etc. Vocals, horns, guitars, pianos, drums, etc. all sound amazing. We are very pleased and would highly recommend the Klipsch RP-280F to anyone looking for a good quality set of floor speakers.

Great full-range front towers
Absolutely incredible sound. I replaced my current front towers (Klipsch RF-42 II) with these and the difference is beyond anything I could have hoped for. I knew the 8” woofers would support a lot more bass, but I had no idea how much I had been missing on my old setup. I have these bi-amped through my Pioneer Elite receiver and they have excellent, clean sound. I was always a little put off with the brightness of the old RF series tweeters, but the new Tractrix horn in the RP series are made from a stiff rubber and really smooth out the harshness. I had planned to just replace my front towers, but as soon as I set these up I knew I had to upgrade the the center channel as well. Paired with the RP-450C center channel, movies in 5.1+ surround are stunning. My fiancé actually said “it’s like being at the movies”. The finish on the cabinets is good, but these aren’t pieces of art. The copper colored woofers look good with the magnetic grilles removed. They towers are very large and made a noticeable impact to the perceived space in my living room. Be prepared to shuffle some furniture if necessary. Overall I couldn’t be happier and I’ll continue to be a loyal Klipsch fan for years to come!

Nice speakers for price; but most enjoyable at higher volumes...
Had for about a year paired with a klipsh 450c center channel and 12in klipsh wireless sub woofer and klipsh rb61 ii sides. Great for what I need; very loud and very clear music and booming lows for theater. The wife gets a bit pissed, but I have an extra bedroom on other side of house for her if her complaints get louder than my klipschs... Powerd by denon 2600 and denon cd player and Bluetooth through ldac.

Great Speakers with full sound
The RP-280F’s are great floor speakers. Kids and highs are ultra clear. The bass is exceptional. I don’t know how they produce so much bass from 8” woofers. I would say a sub-woofer is not required but recommended. The sub adds just a touch more fullness to an already fantastic sound. I’m using the R-120W and it is all I need for a complete 2.1 music system. I’m using an older Onkyo TR-NR626 with 95 Watts per channel. They are very efficient speakers so sound is produced with very low power. There is very little distortion up to 95Db. Even then, that’s more a limitation of my AVR than the speakers, but, I can’t listen too long at that volume anyway in 15 x 25 room. One word of caution, they may make you want to upgrade your AVR. LoL!!!

Check the package for damage before accepting
I replaced a 30 year old Boston Acoustic A70 with these and I think I liked the BA's better. Packaging could be better (week outer box) but speakers arrived OK. Be sure to pay attention when mounting the base, they are angled. (Base is hidden in the bottom of the box). Also don't lose the speaker connection bridge.

Absolutely amazing. They sounded a bit tinny out of the box but it says to let them break in . Sure enough after several hours of random volume amounts and music just playing for days I could hear a big difference. These now sound as expected . They sound absolutely amazing. Exceptionally high crisp tweets and good smooth mids. They are cut at 40 hz but i cross them at 60 and cannot hear the cutoff at all. I did test them with no crossover and found the 40 about correct. I would say you can start to hear it about 43 and its about done at 35. Crazy awesome power handling, i have 150x2 amp at .1% and they take it like its nothing all the way to clipping. They have plenty left. I doubt anyone would need more power then i have, at 150 they are deafening. Sound great at low volumes also.
