I think these bulb holders let OK great. They are seriously chunky and good and heavy. Furthermore they have ceramic bulb holders inside, which should last much better than plastic ones. It took me some time to work out how to get into it to do the wiring. The brass is all in one piece so you can't unscrew it as you would a plastic holder. Finally I worked out if you unscrew 2 screws in the ceramic part, it releases from the main body and comes out.This is where I found a serious problem. There's no form of cable restraint at the back of the holder. These fittings are meant to hang down, so an inexperienced fitter could well attach a twin core flex to the 2 screw terminals, then reassemble it.This would mean the entire weight of the holder plus bulb would be supported only by those two cables. Furthermore, should, say, the live wire come loose and touch the metal body in any way, there's no earth terminal provided either. In that scenario the fitting would become live and potentially lethal! Obviously plastic fittings don't need an earth terminal.The cable restraint issue could be solved easily, by trying a knot in the cable after threading it through the fitting, or by adding a cable tie round the cable inside the fitting to support the weight, but the lack of an earth terminal is extremely troubling. These fittings are supposed to meet EC standards, but I'm not convinced that they do.

Great retro style bulb sockets. Very well made and sturdy material. The colour is exactly as we wanted , will look great in our retro style kitchen good value for money.

Bought for new kitchen will look great with brown colour scheme , nice quality and look even better in real life very happy with these light fittings.

Die Form ist schön und man kann etwas nachjustieren wie tief die Fassung sitzen soll, aber 2 der 4 Keramikisolierungen waren zerbrochen und das obere Stück hat eine ganz andere Farbe der Rest des Sockels.
