Good Product
Good quality and worked well. Just used on a 950 mile trip. The aux tank gravity feed flowed into the main tank as I was driving. Turned on aux tank when main tank was about a 1/4 full and it filled as I was driving. Fuel range increased slowly. Very pleased!!

Easy install. Haven’t filled the back tank on my truck yet. Will see how this works out when I do fill it

Great fit, finish, and Instructions
This kit worked perfectly, fit perfectly, with great fit and finish materials. My installation was on 2016 Chevrolet Duramax 2500HD with an RDS Tool Box + 60 gallon aux fuel tank. The instructions were easily read with matching photos that actually showed the components under discussion. Installation took me about two hours working alone and measuring and rehearsing to insure all was correct the first time. My wife would be proud of me! Not only was the fit and finish superb but they provided some extra materials to address those DIY issues that sometimes happen. Although, I did not need any because of the clarity of the instructions. I highly recommend this manufacturer and supplier. They made a DIY project a pleasant experience. Tip of the hat to you. Vr

Worked well, but it could be better
Installed the RDS Diesel Auxiliary fuel tank kit into my 2018 F-250 King Ranch Truck over the weekend. It took a little more effort than I was expecting, but final installation was very good. I had to cut off about 5" of the metal fuel line to insert the "T". I also had to screw the checkvalve/nozzle as far into the the aluminum adapter to reduce the overall height of the "T". There isn't much room above between the top of the "T" and the truck bed. RDS needs to reduce the height of the checkvalve/nozzle to allow a little more clearance. When installing the fuel line thru the bed of the truck, I installed a rubber grommet to protect the line from being cut or worn by the metal bed. I think the grommet should also be part of the kit. Better instructions or a video would also be helpful. Overall results are great and will provide years of great service.

Great kit
Great idea and design! Now, it took me longer to install this than I thought it would, but is a cool design. It comes with all the parts needed to do the install, and although the drain fittings are small, making it slow to transfer the fuel if you just use the tank as a holding tank, the system does work seamlessly. I have two suggestions for improvement. One is that the tee that the fuel feeds in through is tall enough that it creates a clearance issue with the truck bed when mounted. If it can be designed so it was shorter height from the cross-pipe it would help it mount without hitting the truck bed. The second suggestion is including a rubber grommet with the kit to protect the rubber hose where it passes through the truck bed. Time will tell about how the system works but so far it's great.

Easy to install - 2016 F350
Bought this for my RDS Fuel Tank Tool Combo - 60 Gallon, Model# 72743 to install in my 2016 Ford F350. I have the truck to pull my 41' fifth wheel. When hauling the 16k pound trailer, the gas mileage drops to about 8 or 9 mpg, hence the auxiliary tank install. Enough about the reasoning, lets get to the kit.It was easy to install, plain and simple. The tank took a lot more time of jockeying back and forth to find hole locations to drill. The kit was quick and easy. My Ford has a metal fuel line from the fill cap, transitioning to rubber after about a foot. I was able to cut back the rubber line and install the kit at the transition from metal to rubber. I did have to cut about 4-5" of rubber hose back and use one of the couplers provided (see photos). The parts fit together perfectly and wasn't difficult to line everything up.Be absolutely sure to install the kit with the fill valve as perfectly vertical as possible. If it is not vertical, the check valve will not work correctly and you will lose fuel, as much as 60 gallons if you don't notice the issue.I also recommend using a larger hole saw for the fuel line from the tank to the truck's fuel line. My layout had the valve stem from the tank almost touching the angled truck bed, I had to enlarge the hole for the fuel line to pass through and give room for movement.I used the leftover fuel line to add a piece to the breather valve on the tank and placed it facing up, less chance of splashing diesel in the toolbox.

Works great
I installed on a short bed 2004 F-250. There isn't much room under the bed for this unit. Cutting the filler neck hose was the hardest part. It finally occurred to me to use an oscillating cutting tool. I could not do it with a sheet rock knife or hack saw blade. Once I got the hose cut, the kit went in just fine. I made sure I installed the T in a vertical position and used a grommet to protect the hose going through the bed. I have run 4 tanks of diesel though the valve without any issues. I use an RDS 60 gallon tank which is a wonderful solution for a truck with a stock 29 gallon fuel tank pulling a trailer.
