TRENDnet Wireless N Pan, Tilt, Zoom Network Surveillance Camera with 1-Way Audio, TV-IP651W (White)

This camera was pretty easy to set up as a network camera, but if you want to remote view via the Trendnetview app, it takes some medium duty network knowledge ie: port forwarding, wireless router, and lan ip addreses skills. The camera works like a champ & the picture is just OK (this is not an HD cam). I use the motion detection and it also works well. Once it senses motion, it snaps about 4 photos in sequence and sends the photos to the destination folder that you set up. I have one cam set up in a front window and it senses cars on the street out front as well as anyone walking up on my property. I originally purchased 3 of these cams and when I found out that the Trendnetview app on my phone allowed up to 4 cams I came back to get another. The remote movement of the cam over 4g connection is a bit laggy but it does respond eventually. Always remember to set up a password if you use remote view. I will shop Trendnet again if I am in the market for a security cam.

I purchased two of these cameras for a very specific purpose. They are used indoors and I have no need for stored video in this use, I just need to be able to see what the camera is looking at from where ever I happen to be. For this purpose at the price point they were at the camera is near perfect. The software is a bit of a pain to get working over the internet, but I've dealt with much worse. The free app for android works decent enough as well. The included "recording" type PC app I uninstalled because it was not very useful.The only inexplicable downside to the camera is the included mount. It's metal and designed for wall or ceiling mounting, but the issue is that no matter which way you decided to mount it, you have the "leftover" parts showing for the mount type you didn't use. It also only does "flat" or 90 degree as an option, so if that isn't what your surface is like it won't work. I knocked off one star due to the poor mount implementation and the PC software..

I set up the camera for local viewing and all went well. I then tried to set it up for remote viewing from a computer not on my network and ran into many problems. I worked on this for two days and then finally called Trendnet tech support. I reached "Sean, from India" who tried to set it up, but said to connect to my router I would have to sign up for a "special service" at a price of $69.95 for six months. This service could be used to set up anything, cellphone, router, laptop, and even computer cleanup. I agreed and over the next three hours he tried to set up my camera. No success. Sean suggested that I set up with a connection service for a fee. I said, "let me think about that. Call me back tomorrow". Sean did not call back. I called them and spoke to "George". George cleaned up my computer and then tried to hook up my camera to a "free" service. This was not successful. George suggested that I get a cloud camera. Today I tried to look out the window with the camera using it locally. I could not adjust the brightness or contrast for a good picture. I called George. He looked at the picture and said that the camera is not made for outside viewing. I sent the camera back and will be getting a Foscam camera. I hope I have better luck with this camera. To summarize the camera works good inside with local viewing. Outside viewing and remote set up, FORGET ABOUT IT!!!

I will caveat this 5 star rating with the fact that my only need was to confirm that my dog walker had walked the dogs at the time scheduled. I can't run a live feed on my work PC so I needed to be able to view from a phone app. I can run the app on my phone from anywhere with connectivity and see a live feed fine. For the price I paid for this camera it is a steal. While it is it not HD quality audio or video it is easily seen and heard and completely satisfies my requirements.I see lots of complaints about the setup. I do work in IT and I did take a network class perhaps 15 years ago but I consider myself only moderately knowledgeable in networking. Viewing in house, on my home network, was plug and play. Unfortunately basic networking dictates that you need your external ip address for the phone app to work away from your home network. Once I plugged that in it worked fine.

This model only provides fair imagery. The resolution isn't very good. Probably should of returned it. I have a few of these cameras from Trendnet. The more expensive models are worth the extra costs. Higher resolution and IR night vision are big pluses.

Overall camera is great but as other reviewers commented, set up can be painful and many hours wasted.Camera would not work in wireless mode. Spent many hours with tech support. had linksys wrt120N. Set up wizard would load all data and passwords but would not work.By out of sheer luck we selected encryption to AEP mode only instead of standard TPA/AEK on Linksys router. Then finally worked. After setting up port forwarding am able to view from iphone or adroid phone.

This is a total disaster. I've wasted hours and hours trying to get this little piece of junk to work with zero success. I'm a tech geek and have NEVER left a bad review for a tech product...until now. I suppose now is when I get my first chance at seeing how good Amazon customer service is because this camera is a definite loser. Don't bother unless you need some.frustration. The mtg of the camera was of zero help when I called them. That is enough to let me know I want no part of this little non-functioning camera!

I originally bought it because it is a wireless camera but when i have it connected as wireless it disconnects every other day. The only way I can use it is connected to all the wires.

Bon appareil, seulement le zoom ne fonctionne que sur sa page Internet, c'est un peu dommage, sinon y a une bonne résolution d'image et les couleurs sont belles.
